all these minor teams are wrong?......most of yous must not have been watching football. The two morris's from arva are not good enough, id b surprised if tey wer even on the panel. Goalie is a problem?....all names mentioned so far are dodgey but theres not much else. Mooneys hot and cold. B-boro boys, cant say much....kelly good kicker, has to gt fit, tiereny not tight enough and carlon is a good wee player. Tierney leddy and barry reilly are quality players, thers other good players to, gunner, ray lynch, micky brady, blessing, bosco, chrisy sheilds, seagrave, tierney(lavy)...paddy rudden has ability, bt has to start usen it, same with paddy king!...rogers good corner back....last years u16s dont hav many players that could be on it...flanagan from the bridge?...

the minor startin team doesnt really need any changes 4m the team that were the in buncrana cup final(has paddy rudden lost interest he is no1s team?). they have big tall matchwinners unlike the u16 team this year.the u16 team had good players who could make the 2009 panel but not 1st 15.they had no keeper with a consitent kickout so they had no platform to attack from.midfield was the achilles heel.they had to bring terry reilly a tall person .most of the forward line could make the 2009 panel but they never seem to click with each other in games. about boucher? he's a talent but sheridan was 6"4 when was 1st a minor and boucher is 5"7.the goalie should b gilsenan from bboro?plays soccer in goals and has a consistent kickout.does ne of the other gaolies mention play soccer in goals?sum advice for mickey.go onto tyrones armagh derry monaghan forums and see who the their best players are

This years county under 16 selection process was disgracefull. My nephew who lives 20 minutes from Breffni was up early Saturday mornings for the under 15 trials that took place last year, he made to every session and knowing him he might not be the greatest of skillfull players and is only around 5'10 but he is fit, makes a huge effort and has good ball handling. He did enjoy it and said that all but one coaching staff was terrific to work with. He singled out ------ A year later a picture of the county under 16s was in the Celt for playing in Croke Park. My nephew pointed out four players that didn't even attend the trials who were picked. Doesn't matter how good you are; if a player never puts in the effort in attending the trials he shouldn't be considered. That attitude will just continue on for years. My nephew and a few other players who did put in the commitment i can't help but think that their confidence and commitment to football was shattered. ----- So don't be critical if there isn't many decent prospects from county under 16s this year heading on to county minor next year. Is there anyone else who encountered this problem??

To say you dont deserve your place on a team because you didnt attend trials is silly. these "development squads" are always open to new or later developing talent and it would be true to say that if your nephew was good enough he would have been picked up like these players at some stage.

in my opinion i think trials should be run to pick the minor team at the start of the year. usually they just take the team from u15 up but there would be some players who have improved an awful lot since then and might not get the chance. there is a lot of players out there that are good enough for the county but probly wont be recognised because they havent been on previous county teams and they should get a chance. anyone agree

frankthetank1 i agree with your last comment. Since u15 many players who never got picked for development squads may by now have had growth spurts, speed inrease or even simply improved ball handling, kick passing, etc. There should be trials it could easily create a buzz for next years minors and aswell many players who automatically selected for county minors through previous development squads may begin to double check their ability which would give them motivation to further improve their ability so as they know their places in the panel isn't somewhat guaranteed.

i also agree with frankthetanks comment,,cavan minors have messed up the last number of years and its time it was put right..everybody should be given a chance..its about time the minors won something..

In fairness hogamstand tommy rodgers is far too small for a full-back and mickedy brady's best position is at centre-half back or wing-back. Im not sure about shane tierney either.
