You would want to put Kenny Cloney from St.Annes in there, he had a brilliant year at corner back for us, both hurling and football Annes Man (Wexford) - Posts: 208 - 11/11/2008 11:44:40 138348 Link 0 |

Lads, I'm not sure exactly how the P&G allstars work, but if they are designed to reflect performances in the club championship only, then I can't see how Peter Hughes of Kilanerin can be included on anybody's top 15 from this years club championship. He had a fine year with the Wexford U-21 team and this probably impacted negatively on his performances with Kilanerin later in the year. Seamus Hughes would be a much more deserving candidate from Kilanerin for inclusion. Also both Colm Kavanagh and Conor Byrne had very impressive performances throughout the latter stages of the championship. However as these latter 2 players are relatively unknown outside of the club they probably won't receive recognition. JDS (Wexford) - Posts: 26 - 11/11/2008 15:57:10 138695 Link 0 |

Cant see how Ciaran Lyng or Peter Hughes could be in the team. Fine peformances at inter county level but didnt impress for their clubs. For what its worth, these are the most consistent club performers i've seen all year. yellabelly (Wexford) - Posts: 1062 - 11/11/2008 17:48:59 138860 Link 0 |

How are ye putting Peter Hughes in there.? Adrian Flynn got no mention and apart from the Co final he was one of Gusserane's best players in the championship - I'd put him in for Hughes. paddywexman (Wexford) - Posts: 289 - 11/11/2008 18:26:04 138926 Link 0 |

Paudie McMahon gave a masterclass in goal keeping the whole championship making point blank and important saves at vital times in all of the shels games thru the championship. Even though kilanerin won the championship ive only put in 2 of their players but this is only because they played a team game with no stand out players with the exception of matty forde obviously. David bradley looks a great midfielder, be great if he would commit to the county team along with shane cullen to improve what is already a strong team and squad. David walsh n Brian Malone carried their county form thru to the club championship and maybe young lawler could strengthen the county teams backs if he chooses football over hurling if the new hurling manager wants him. i chose him at corner back even though he played most of the championship in midfield scoring highly and played one game and an extra time at full back. Flynn played very well for gusserane and although i didnt see much of the intermediate championship i saw colfer score some great points under pressure from tough positions against barntown in the final. I chose him as he was the best of what i saw in the games i seen through out.. Full team below, what do yee think??? wex2da_core (Wexford) - Posts: 27 - 11/11/2008 23:25:54 139199 Link 0 |

Wex2da_core, i presume youre from shelmaliers ?? 4 players from there and they lost in semi final & only 2 from Kilanerin who beat the 2 championship favourites, clongeen & horeswood, before winning the final. yellabelly (Wexford) - Posts: 1062 - 12/11/2008 13:29:00 139533 Link 0 |

NRD, i did introduce my 15 as "the most consistent club performers i've seen all year". Its great that other people have other opinions, just proves that there is plenty of interest out there. yellabelly (Wexford) - Posts: 1062 - 12/11/2008 18:17:36 139918 Link 0 |

i did state my reasons for only having 2 from kilanerin.. and i also said that the 15 players i chose were from the games i had seen as obviously cant make it to all of every clubs games.. therefor i am open to the fact that there are more than likely other players who should be on it that i just havent seen in championship... also along with clongeen, shels were also a lot of other peoples favourites for the championship.. all that aside i think the 3 nominations for each position would be a good way of rattlin it down to 15.. wex2da_core (Wexford) - Posts: 27 - 13/11/2008 16:50:12 140664 Link 0 |

When i checked with the bookies in wexford before the championsip began, Clongeen were favourites just ahead of horeswood. Then came kilanerin, Starlights and castletown. Shels weren't ranked in the top 6 at that time. yellabelly (Wexford) - Posts: 1062 - 13/11/2008 17:48:29 140736 Link 0 |

Purple and Gold all stars are potentially becoming a joke this year in the players ommited from the purple and gold nominations, could be wrong but to the best of my knowledge Keith o Grady, Seamus Hughes, Amrose Stafford, Clive Lawler, Matty Flynn and a few others mentioned were not considered ??? From the nominations I think team will be as follows, those beside are whom I think should of got it in that line rather than that position, think Boland should get CF with Ambrose Stafford WF, but he wasn't included NRD (Wexford) - Posts: 25 - 19/11/2008 16:08:36 145111 Link 0 |
