I would start of with this panel of 53 and cut it down as time goes on......

Goalkeepers: J.Reilly J.Carolan C.Anderson

Defenders: Chesty D.Rabitte M.Cahill M.Hannon K.Fannin R.Dunne Gunner Podge M.McKeever O.Minagh G.Fercombe J.Crowe J.McCutcheon B.Watters D.Sheridan E.McCormack M.Brides A.Gaynor Cillian Reilly Dane O'Dowd

Midfielders: T.Crowe P.McKenna S.Maguire J.McEnroe C.McDermott A.Reilly C.Galligan Georoid McKiernan G.Doyle N.Walsh

Forwards: M.Reilly M.Lyng R.Cullivan R.Flanagan C.Mackey S.Brady E.Reilly S.Johnston G.Pierson D.McCabe P.McNamme A.Cole E.Keating D.Givney R.Galligan J.Tierney Darragh Gaffney Ronan Reilly
Niall McDermott Kevin Brady

Not a bad panel in my opinion maybe midfield a bit weak

Anyone agree????

yes but i wouldnt have the lads that have just came out of the minor set up. they are a bit too young i would give them a year or so to build there way up. i would also have barry cusack from castlerahan on that panel he is a very good no nonsence full back and his making a name for himself with fine performances

That is a good squad of players, good mix of youth and fresh faces can only be good for the team.

Anyone else have any suggestions of panels they would pick??

I would go through each club and try and pick players from there, of course some clubs wont have anyone good enough. Heres my estimate of the players at each club although im sure ive missed some players and maybe even some clubs. Dont give out, just add to the list, or some constructive critisism. No need to get nark because i left someone from your club out.

Jesus breffni lad if tommy carr listened to you we would go far. Dalboy named out 53 players for a panel and i would agree with all of them players, you just named players who have been on senior pael or who were under 21. There is a few good players in Junior football like mark johnston, ronan reilly, arron duignan you didnt bother with. You have Gaynor on it to he has done nothing the last two years mcdermot or niall reilly would be better. Sean higgins is a sub with the gaels.

In all honesty lads its going to take at least 3-5 years at least before Cavan are contesting Ulster so what we need to do with the current county set up is out with the old and in with the new and start a fresh.

lads you seem to be naming the same faces that have played in the cavan shirt for the last number of years.. My question is, whats going to be different this time??

Yawn.... Very Predictable.

Thats very constructive there Mourinhio. If its so predictable why dont you give us a panel that would give us all a shock? I think i went through every club in the county and thats the pick of the players. The only way a Cavan panel wouldnt be predictable is if i picked bad players. Who have i missed? Go on there, give us your panel, and shock me please.

Brefni Lad keep your head on your shoulders for cripes sake!! In response to your message I did not say that your panel in particular was predictable but the thread as a whole.. I think we should leave the panel picking to Tommy Carr and his selectors in the future.

jimmyjohnjoe1 - No-one from redhills??Surely Dunne is worth a shot, possibly Gumley and Brides (even though he doesn't play for Redhills anymore). And Minagh is a shoe in in a few years.

Gareth "Nestie" Smith is a Cavan Man playing with Oliver Plunketts.. Surely Carr will know about him.. if he doesn't get a shot with new Dublin Management he should surly get a shot with Cavan..

very nice work boys, alot of effort went into the lists...
oh yea good call "sure" about nestie... he was in with the dubs but fell out with lyons. he was hounded to play for cavan when coleman was in charge. james cole was training mountnugent and he put paddy mac namee on to him. paddy was a selector at the time. if he was ever going to play for cavan it would have been that time.
shame cause he is a class act
