ANTRIM NOT BACKING DOWN - 3 Like(s)
As an Armagh supporter the game being fixed for corrigan means i wont be there but am fine with that.Dublin and other cities have numerous opportunity's to see the all ireland champions throughout the years .When did Antrim last have this chance? When will they get it again? Sometimes principle and bringing games around the country are more important than money.Doesnt matter what the result is antrim shouid not be disadvantaged and whilst other teams have gone to neutral venues the difference is that they agreed to that. Antrim dont and they are perfectly correct. On local discussion the Armagh supporters support their stand.

Should There Be Rule Changes In Hurling? - 3 Like(s)
Yes, let's start with implementing the rules, club semis had some high and seriously dangerous hits last weekend.refs and players have a responsibility to ensure the well being of those on the pitch. Also shoving a player over when trying to get possession isn't a skill

Casement Park - 2 Like(s)
Hope this week's finances move things on and Ulster gets a proper modern gaa stadium.Belfast well served by train, bus and motorway and as Ireland s 2nd largest city this is well overdue.Think it's worth remembering this stadium will also be a facility for hurling (and maybe other events)

Replying To Eddie the Exile: "In fairness Parnell Park was the optimum choice but it's out of commission due to the surface being vandalised. Newbridge was the closest viable option." Newbridge for this game.Really easy to get to for both sets of supporters alright.Newry would be ideal and even parts of louth are ten minutes drive away and dundalk a full fifteen minutes with parts of monaghan about twenty minutes away.Newry is an equally good ground to newbridge ,maybe even better capacity but bringing a large group of supporters along the same road and down the m50?? Maybe they dont want people attending.

Smashing weekend of football.Kieran MC geeney is correct, the present system is just starting to work and should be left standing with even Armagh top of the group giving everything and Donegal refusing to settle for a draw.

Full credit to Kerry deserving league,Munster and AI champions.Kerry were relaxed and focused and raised the tempo from the start. Donegal seemed a bit on edge and caught in the headlights though i rate them highly.Brendan Mc Cole trying to intimidate DC at the start was just symptomatic of this and only served to encourage DC to step it up.Dont know why referees tolerate this type of behaviour.Do the rules not apply before the game starts?A defender trying to muscle out an opponent and then being left for dead during the game is almost comical.

David Clifford GOAT - 1 Like(s)
He is an exceptional player but am not prepared to call him the greatest ever until he matches players like Spillane,Sheehy,O Shea,Mc Carthy and most of the recent great Dublin team who have had a longer career ,nevertheless he has to be in the running for GOAT but will make a judgement in about 6 years.

Two-Point Winners After The Hooter - 1 Like(s)
Replying To Pope_Benedict: "Seems like a sweeping assessment that, and highly unlikely to be frank. Where's the data to back up your sweeping assessment?
From my own standpoint, i liked the dead ball after the hooter. Thought it was fine last year. In contrast, that finish to Kerry/Ros last Sunday would have me moaning. Lots of potential for problems regarding buzzer beating strikes, and the added need for precision clock management for it. I'm amazed that anyone sees this as a rule enhancement." Agreed, new hooter system already giving bother, imagine as the year goes on,is the game over as the hooter starts or when it finishes , Roscommon would probably like to know.

The officials let far too much go early doors and it was inevitable it was all going to escalate from both sides, real shame but happens far too often ,we can do without the macho stuff.
