Rob Hennelly Transfers To Raheny - 4 Like(s)

Replying To RangersFan:  "link So Rob Hennelly is transferring to Raheny in Dublin. I wonder will we see the same outrage that surrounded Shane Walsh?"
I didn't like the Shane Walsh outrage myself just to start off but given that Hennelly has lived in Dublin the last 12 years and is not transferring to maybe the biggest club in the country then not, Chris Barrett transferred to Clontarf a couple of years ago and that wasn't met with negative reaction either.

Great to see Roy Keane speaking so glowingly about hurling last night on Sky.

Replying To Freethinker:  "Can we just not sit back and enjoy the moment ? Why do we always seem to do what we are best at - begrudgery. I am not a rugby supporter but I support any sportsperson when they pull on the green jersey. We probably should have won the World Cup. We didn't - so what. Ireland had a wonderful win last night. They were short players and we were. We didn't ask that French player to lose the run of himself and get sin binned - twice."
One of the bizarre things these days is people who don't like rugby being absolutely obsessed with rugby.

World Cup Final Clashes With Club Semi Finals - 3 Like(s)

Replying To galwayford:  "Not a problem in my view. It is the hurling club semis, not the finals. And Ireland are not in it."
I don't think having massive club games clashing with realistically the biggest sporting event on the planet is a smart move, I'll watch the hurling myself and keep an eye on the soccer but attendance and TV numbers will definitely be effected.

Replying To PattyONeill:  "It makes no difference to me if Ireland do well or not. I won't be watching any of the games."
Fair enough but this adds no value whatsoever to this topic...

Replying To tiobraid:  "They can forget about it. Surely the teams involved would refuse to play it?"
You'd hope so anyway, if Cork want the debt paid back on the ground ask Ed Sheeran and Westlife, not Galway or Clare supporters.

Replying To benched:  "Boring - as if incidents don't go on all over the country"
The elbow to Paudie Clifford is not commonplace, 1 or the worst incidents I've seen in a match in a long time.

Replying To Ban:  "Don't know the answer to your question but I do know that resentment is toxic. For some strange reason, many of Buffs followers are trolls with only negative contributions. Maybe it makes them feel better about themselves for a few minutes? Met him after a game recently and he's a real gent. the kids absolutely love him. He's very entertaining. I'm more aware of what's going on in County Championships than I ever was. Its because of him. Both the GAA and Buff would benefit from a partnership. Maybe he's just happy doing his own thing.. Who knows!"
Unfortunately social media can be a bit of a cesspit these days, especially Twitter. Buff does annoy me at times, some of his posts for example after the queen's death and when the sky deal ended were just silly but his coverage of games is fantastic.

Replying To Saynothing:  "Another question could be, where is the player welfare if they are playing on what could be 4 teams?"
Given yourself and the Kerry poster have suggested midweek club games for dual players I'm pretty sure its not a priority for you anyway.

New Sunday Game Night Time Host. - 2 Like(s)

Replying To oneoff:  "Des Cahill is leaving the night time show. Who would people like to see replace him? Who I think it should be is Dara Ó Cinnéide. But in reality it's more than likely going to be Jacqui Hurley."
Would love Shane Stapleton or Wooly Parkinson to get it but not a hope of that happening, reckon it will be either Jacqui or Damien Lawlor and would have faith in both to do a decent job, only concern is the direction RTE are going, everything is overly sanitised and I found their obvious agenda against the spilt season to be pretty embarrassing.

Replying To friedporridge:  "rte has a bizarre fascination with horse racing. Always has done. A niche 'sport'. Mind you the same could be said about rugby, but they are based in the rugby heartland, they will always give that a huge amount of unwarranted attention."
International Rugby games get a massive TV audience so certainly not unwarranted from RTE point of view, everyone is entitled there own view in terms of sports they like or don't, I follow most popular sports from TV point of view couple I wouldn't but find it really bizarre how people who don't like rugby seem obsessed with it and jump on every chance to stick the boot in.

Wouldn't worry about him, he's plenty of form, his post after the Wexford/ Westmeath game last May tells you everything about him.

Replying To Cockney_Cat:  "Don't you Limerick lot ever stop moaning and whining? I've just been reading the 'Limerick Hurling 2023', it's endless. The refs are always favour the other team. Our lads are penalised more than others. Oher teams cheat and dive and provoke our players ...on and on ad nauseam."
Absolutely, although your own counties forum on boards can be just as bad, what annoys me is people who think refs have some agenda against their county, refs like players are human and will make wrong decisions from time to time, sometimes they go your way sometimes they don't but the lads who think there's some conspiracy against their county really grate with me.

Buff Egan and Croke Park Wifi - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Pikeman96:  "100%. Things like Rory's Stories and The Two Johnnies started out in much the same way, and they've done well for themselves, thanks to a bit of savvy and cop-on. Buff would have had a chance of doing the same, and I'd guess some sort of association with the GAA or maybe a guest spot on radio or television wouldn't have been out of the question if he'd done things a bit differently along the way. But that ship has probably long ago sailed for him, because as you say, he's still far too much of a loose cannon."
Don't really think you can compare Buff and Rory's stories given 1 got famous from sketches and the other from recording matches, only thing in common really was both using social media to raise their profile.

Attendances 2024 - 2 Like(s)

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Dublin scored around same as Limerick hurlers so negative tactics hardly a factor there. Dónal Óg right again about them condensation of season."
The reason for the small attendance is the fact its a dead duck provincial championship where the winner is known before a ball is kicked.

What channel would you get them on? Like I say, I don't know. But could some kind poster please provide an answer to this fella's question? It seems like quite a simple question from quite a simple person. But as it is, and he being a Wexford person and all, he seems quite out of his depth in not knowing the answer. As we say stateside, he's reaching out, so could someone please try to help this obviously helpless 'hurleyorhurl'?"
