Former Clare star Jamesie O’Connor says Galway may have exposed a couple of Limerick weakness this past weekend that Brian Cody will try and exploit.

The Tribesmen pushed the All-Ireland champions all the way at Croke Park before eventually falling to a 0-27 to 1-21 defeat.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports GAA, says the Cats’ display against Clare will see them heading into Sunday week’s All-Ireland decider against the Treaty men full of confidence.

“They had 1-17 on the board by half-time, and it wasn't far off a perfect performance,” wrote the two-time All-Ireland winner.

“The Noresiders only allowed one starting Clare forward to score from play in the first-half.

“There were so many things that Kilkenny got right, and they'll need to do that again in two weeks' time.

“Brian Cody will have studied Limerick, and probably has a dossier put together on what is required to beat them. And maybe Galway exposed one or two Limerick weaknesses that Cody will look to exploit.

“Kilkenny are headed in the right direction, and are heading for the All-Ireland final feeling they have every chance of winning.”
