Crazy Decision Regarding Under 20 Football Final - 8 Like(s)

Replying To KillingFields:  "If you say that about this competition and its just one game. then you could say it about other competitions. Its not unfair on them. They will share the all ireland title for the year..."
Seriously Killingfields? Sharing an all ireland title......i'd rather be knocked out in the first round. How can you say its not unfair on them?

Crazy Decision Regarding Under 20 Football Final - 5 Like(s)

Replying To KillingFields:  "What do you do as alternative? You wont have games for next few weeks. The next years squads should then be training/prepping for their games/competition. Its perfectly fair. They both get the title. They wont have lost. You cant play the game so what else would you do?"
I'm not even going to try and have a debate with you KillingFields. A waste of time because you'll never admit you're wrong. Every poster here knows that you're a rugby man just trying to rise GAA fans.

Have to laugh at the Dublin posters saying they haven't a hope against Mayo. I'll be amazed if they don't win sam again.

Replying To brisbane:  "Whats the story with RTE? Limerick v Clare not on TV I put on RTE radio1 and it had some Scotland v Ireland ladies rugby on. Derry v Monaghan also not on actually zero GAA on today."
Honestly i could have cried when they switched over from the hurling to the womens rugby. The commentary would put you to sleep. That rugby match on tele too. Mind boggling. No saturday game highlights show tonight either.

New Rules For Gaelic Football - 3 Like(s)

Replying To BostonGuy:  "Nope watched the full championship, saw Dublin hammer everyone in sight, saw two semi's that were over after 15 minutes. Agree there were matches in the past that teams got hammered but not 3 successive Leinster finals in a row. Next year how many people will go to a Leinster final? As for me being nostalgic, nope I'm a realist, if you are in sport your are in the entertainment business whether you like it or not. Companies that sponsor teams that get beaten by 22 points will stop sponsoring as they want to protect their brand. TV will stop showing games or people just wont bother watching, advertisers will look elsewhere. Rule changes can help with evolving the game, for example square balls stopped half the opposition from killing the GK, and hand passed goals bans stopped the likes of Eoin Liston just hand passing every ball over the bar or in the net. Hurling penalty changes stopped a player from lifting a ball into the 15 yard line and nearly killing a person with a 100mph ball, single goalie pushed the odds in favor of the striker of the ball. As for a a couple of bad games, get real football has been awful for almost two decades since the Jim McGuiness days of Donegal, you can point to a couple of epic encounters but a single swallow does not make a Summer."
Have a look at the Donegal Dublin 2014 semi final and explain how Jim McGuinness ruined football? Such a statement.

Mark O Sullivan Ex Cork Player Interview - 3 Like(s)
In my opinion the game is way better to watch now than it was 20 years ago. You look at the old matches and you pull your hair out- your team wins the ball and your driving out of defence do you 1. Slip a simple handpass or outside of the boot bounce pass to the free man out on the wing and support them by hard running up the field or 2. Put the laces through it and drive it into the square where it will be turned over 9 times out of 10. We'll go with option 2. But its ok they'll give it straight back to us.

Galway Can Beat Kerry In The Final. - 2 Like(s)

Replying To liosbreac6265:  "No they cannot. This is a dead duck. Kerry forwards will run riot. Yesterday was the final"
They absolutely can do it. Can't believe Galway are being written off by so many already. They have shown resiliance this year and have a steeliness about them. Should be a cracker. Honestly can't predict the winner.

Replying To Saynothing:  "Agree, seemed to bounce ball twice, goes to show when the pressure is on they were made to look average. Cluxton was the same, when you pushed up and covered men he more than likely kicked ball over sideline. Done it umpteen times in the past. Schoolboy stuff in the back line when their panicked."
Ye you're right Cluxton was only an average keeper. You should have taken him for a few sessions and showed his what to do in those situations.

Westmeath Senior Football Championship 2020 - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Latte:  "Caulry seemed miles out of their depth based on the scoreline coming from that game. They're miles out of their depth at Senior I think. Athlone should beat them and they'll struggle in a relegation play off."
Latte you seem to love the term 'miles out of their depth' . Easy to say teams are miles out of their depth when a seasoned senior team like Garrycastle get momentum. I wouldn't bet on Athlone getting a handy game against a good young Caulry team. Watch this space.

Meath V Dublin Leinster Final. - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Meathball:  "Dublin were very good, Westmeath & Laois are worse teams than Meath but they set up much better against Dublin, tactics by McEntee were brutal, I have seen better kickout strategy at U14. He has to go, everyone was saying we are improving, but we were beaten by more than last year. Team selection was wrong tonight. I hope Andy does the honourable thing and steps down without delay. No matter who takes over cannot do any worse. There are great players there and they deserve better."
Going on tonight I would disagree that Westmeath and Laois are worse teams than Meath you are away with the fairies.

Just want to say well done Westmeath Gaa for setting up the new Youtube programme 'The Westmeath Game' which reviews all the football and hurling club championship games in the county. They come in for a lot of criticism for coverage of our games but this is 1 thing they have definitely got right. A brilliant initiative!

Replying To wexico15:  "Shameful decision today, couldn't have summed it up better myself https://twitter.com/Shaneytweet/status/1295731021799981058?s=09"
Ye hard to make sense of it. There are several other things that are causing the spread of covid way more than playing football and hurling outdoors. GAA is one of the few things left at present in rural Ireland lifting the spirits of both young and old. Are the posters on here calling for gaa activity to cease from urban area where theres loads of other thingst o do or maybe there clubs are struggling in championship and it would save them from relegation if it was all called off? Genuinely not sure why they're pushing to stop gaa.

Never really caught fire as Castletown were the better team throughout. Well done to Castletown. Main thing that I took from today is that the toilets in Cusack Park are a disgrace! A joke for a county final! And 20 euro for a ticket. Its worse the place is getting!! You'd wonder where all the fundraiser money vanished to? Prob went to the county footballers holiday by the sound of things...
