Abbeydorney will face St Brendan’s Ardfert in the Kerry senior hurling championship final after both sides came through their respective semi-finals yesterday.

The holders were 3-15 to 1-16 winners over Ballyduff at Austin Stack Park, where Adam Maunsell, Michael Slattery and Niall O'Mahoney netted the goals for them in the first-half.

Those strikes helped Abbeydorney to take in a 3-10 to 1-7 lead at the break, with Podge Boyle having pulled back a goal for St Brendan’s in the run up to the interval, and the second-half would see points by Michael O’Leary, Maunsell and Slattery helping the defending champions into a third final on the bounce.

St Brendan’s now stand in their way of a three-in-a-row success after defeating Causeway on a 5-18 to 1-15 scoreline in the earlier game in Tralee.

Billy Lyons’s goal had increased the Causeway lead to 1-8 to 0-6 lead five minutes before half-time, but the victors would get things level with the help of a Gearoid Sheehan goal before falling behind by three at the break (1-13 to 1-10).

Earnán Ferris’s goal squared things up again in the opening minute of the restart, with three more goals to come from the Ardfert men as Fionan Egan (2, 1 penalty) and Sheehan raised the green flags which would see them to a comfortable victory in the end.
