The GAA has denied a request to move the All-Ireland senior football championship round-robin clash between Armagh and Galway to Croke Park.

With the last round of group games set to be played at neutral venues, the Armagh-Galway tie was fixed for June 18th at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon.

That venue remains unchanged despite a request from both counties during the week to stage the game at Croker.

A statement from Armagh GAA’s Twitter page yesterday evening reads as follows:

“Tickets will go on sale via gaa.ie very shortly. No club allocation will be available.

“We understand that many of our loyal supporters will be disappointed by this as our request for a change of venue to Croke Park was denied.”
