Congratulations to Carlow today. Offaly don't deserve any sympathy at all. There is something rotten to the core in the county board for the past few years. A hurling development committee was set up to address Offaly hurling 3 or 4 years ago. Liam Sheedy was one of the members. But the county board didn't implement any of the recommendations. And the committee walked away. To be honest, Offaly should have been relegated to division 2 years ago when Kerry found themselves playing Offaly in a promotion/relegation match, despite the fact that they topped division 2 that year. Sad times for Offaly but it is refreshing to see Carlow make great strides.
