Practically no mention all week about the hurling finals this weekend on the Westmeath gaa social media channels

Very poor
Anyway, hope Turin, Plunketts and the Gaels do the business

Cant agree with this.
I saw 11 interviews with mentors of competing clubs on Facebook which I never saw in previous years. Also finals were mentioned on latest 50/50 draw.
At least try to be fair with criticism.

Twitter. Nothing
Don't really look at other social media so I'll have to check them out

Anyway, congrats to Turin

Thought both Turin and Plunketts were full value for their wins. No taking from Turin but I think they may struggle at senior B. Did Pollard underestimate Plunketts??? and think they just had to turn up, Plunketts ran them ragged and seemed to get stronger as the game went on.

I think the clubs outside the elite with ambition such as Plunketts,Turin,Brownstown and Pollard despite the senior B defeat all had grounds for optimism today with Mullingar winning the senior B , Turin the intermediate and Clann Na Gael the under 16.

Turin's first ever intermediate title and their first championship victory in 41 years. Think what it means to the Heffernans, Scally's, Augheys and others after all their barren years. Ray and Alan Aughey have played adult hurling for almost 60 years between them, John Gorman played for years and then became manager, whether they will struggle at senior B or not is a discussion for months down the line, they deserve to enjoy their fantastic win.

I thought Padraig Casey at centre forward for Plunketts was excellent, only 19 as well. Bright future ahead of him.

Totally agree its wonderful for Turin and all their loyal members and supporters.
They will struggle in senior B like the other 5 teams. Its a great competition where any team can win or lose every game.
I would be worried to see rumoured changes about increasing numbers in the senior A championship as it will affect Weatmeath's most competitive championship over many years and effectively kill an intermediate championship whose importance was there for all who were in Cusack Park today.

Delighted to see the Gael's winning and stalwarts like Tommy Doyle and Derek McNicholas get a county title. Raharney's shooting in first half was their downfall. It was disappointing for Westmeath hurling though to see 3 poor finals over the weekend.

Great for the Gaels. Noel Conaty,Derek,Jogger,Philly Reilly all great stalwards for coub and county. It wasnt a great game, Raharneys shooting left them down but that wont worry the Gaels who have played better and lost but the 24 year old wait and 7 county finals lost will make this sweet.

Dan Higgins worthy of a shout out too, underrated hurler who rarely gets beaten by his man and has given great service.

Congrats to LLG, but it was one of the worst county finals in terms of quality for a long long time. The Gaels wont mind though & good luck to them in Leinster. Hurling in the county is not in a good place.

I would strongly disagree with that, Turin, Plunketts and Lough Lene Gaels winning county titles is great for the county. The game itself wasn't the best spectacle but not all finals are. Hurling at underage level is going well and I believe we will see that at u20 county level over the next few years.

Are they thinking about taking, say, the top 2 from Senior B and making A into 8 teams?, and then make Intermediate and Senior B all one competition??
