Replying To john.no1:  "Surely Harte gets his turn in Goal for 2027?"
I was expecting that he would have got the nod last year but it never happened. We don't appear to have a lot of options between the posts .

Potential new additions/players to step up

Keepers - Harte (Coolera), Lyons (Shamrock G)

Defenders - O'Callaghan/Keane (DRP), D Walsh (Harps), D. McLoughlin (Curry), C Kenny (Shamrock G), O Harte (Coolera), R O'Kelly Lynch (St Mary's)

Midfielders - Keaney (Molaise), Barlow (Shamrock G), M Sheridan (Castleconnor, C Walsh (Harps)

Forwards - Niland/E Rooney (Mary's), M Henry (Harps), Reilly (Curry), Marren (Bunnies), A Lang (Molaise)

Highly unlikely all or most would be involved for lots of different reasons but it's clear we need to cast a wide net for talent and prospects next year

Unfortunately some of those have been in the panels from the last 2 management teams.
I can't see them going in a third time. But yes, we need more blood.

Predictions for Round 5:

At least we have something to play for in some of the games but doubtful if there'll be any major shocks.

Senior:
Coolera v Molaise...In the most ludicrous venue but well looked after, I expect Coolera to pull through by 3 points.
Tubbercurry v Tourlestrane...Tourlestrane to help guide their neighbours towards the trap door and win by 8/9.
Mullinabreena v Easkey...Think this could be a good game actually as fairly evenly matched but I'll pluck for Easkey by 2.
Harps v Mary's....the clash of the weekend given whats at stake for both winner and loser. I back Mary's to win by 2.

So that'd leave a QF of Coolera v Tourlestrane and St Mary's v St Molaise Gaels.

Intermediate:
St Pats v Bunninadden...interesting to see what approach Bunnies take to this. On form they should win by 3/4. If they start minding fellas then Pats could do it, but I'll stick with Bunnies.
Calry v Enniscrone...Expecting a close match here but Calry to prevail by 2.
Ballymote v Cloonacool....Ballymote to win handily 10+
Geevagh v Castleconnor....the clash of the weekend in intermediate. I understand the men from the west called in favours no more than on venue matters, to adjust officials so must be they feeling the pressure. Geevagh are hardy men who will give plenty to CC's young lads but don't know will it be enough. I'll go with draw.

That'll leave Ballymote v Farnans and Calry v Castleconnor in QFs.

Junior:
St Mary's v St.Michaels....this is a big game for Michaels more so I would say as Mary's won't be too put out on losing out in a semi. If my sums are right in order for Michaels to qualify they'll need to win by 3 points to get second which I think they'll manage.
Harps v Johns....Loser misses out on a semi final here but think John's will do enough to win by 4/5
Tourlestrane v Owenmore....OMG by 8
Molaise v Shamrock Gaels...Molaise by 8.

That'll leave St Molaise Gaels v St Michael's and Owenmore Gaels v St John's in semi final.

Castleconnor by 2 over Geevagh
Ballymote by 10+ over Cloonacool

Predictions

Senior:
Forget about recent games, Tubber with nothing to play for will be up for this one with their neighbours but Tour will have enought to see them through.
Harps V St Mary's will depend on Tour result evening before. A tour loss will see Harps win as Marys will be through and rest players. A Tour win and i think Marys expereince will just about get them through at Harps expense.
Molaise need a win just to find some form so they get the nod only for this reason. Coolera now the masters of the bigger picture will gladly take a loss if it means been at full strenght for a 1/4 final.
Coolaney will beat Easkey only because there is nothing to play for an Easkey will already be turning the focus to hurling.

Intermediate:
Hard to call Castleconnor V Geevagh, a draw
Ballymote will beat Cloonacool
Bunninadden will beat St Pat's but could be closer than expected is pats get a bounce from last result.
Calry will beat Enniscrone

Junior:
St Mary's will beat St Michael's and look like a shoe in for a final place unless they loose players to senior.
Owenmore will beat Tourlestrane but expect they will look at the biggher picture and run the bench and take no risks.
Harps v St John's, draw
St Molaise should beat Shamrock Gaels

Replying To sillymoocow:  "This is not good enough and questions would need to be asked WHO in the County Board elected Castleconner with the Venue.

As previously mentioned, a local Derby played in Kent Park or even Connoly Park would draw a good crowd and atmosphere.

To drag both teams all the way to Castleconner to a venue I personally don't like and when you include the wind factor is complete nonsense."
Any update on who nominated Castleconner as the venue for this north Derby?

These people need to be called out for this ridiculous decision.

Common Sense has to take over

Last weekend of round robin games. I'm still not in favour of the quarter finals. A team could lose 2 games and still qualify for the knockout phase. That doesn't sit well with me. It devalues the championship.
There is only one meaningful game in the senior championship this weekend. 3 of the 4 relegation spots are already known. 4 of the 6 teams who will play knockout football is also known.
Coolera and Molaise will play each other in a pedestrian game away from everyone over on the west coast. And wait for it. Sligo Gaa will live stream it.
Also we have a rejuvenated Easkey playing Coolaney Mullinabreena in that side of the draw with both of them already in relegation.
Tourlestrane will easily account for Tubber leaving only one important game.
Harp's v St. Mary's.
The experience of Tourlestrane stood tall when they play Eastern Harp's.
I expect Mary's will also use their experience to down the Harp's.
In the intermediate the Bunnies will want to keep their unbeaten record intact so I expect they will beat Pat's.
Castleconnor seems to be able to put up big scores whereas their opponents Geevagh have struggled in the scoring so I go for Castleconnor.
A handy win for Ballymote over Cloonacool and Calry should beat Enniscrone.
Wins for Michaels, Johns, Molaise and Owenmore Gaels in the junior

It looks like Farnans could be in the knockout phase after 1 win and 3 losses.
I didn't bother doing predictions until now because there wasn't much to predict.
In Junior Michael's scraped through in a 3 way tie. John's made very hard work of beating Harp's.
However for this evening I think Mary's will beat Harps by 3.
Castleconnor to beat Geevagh by 6

Serious score racked up by OMG today in Coola, missed at least 2 sitters and a penalty also.

St Johns are going to have to bathe in the Holy Well next week

A really really poor game in Tubbercurry between Mary's and Harp's. After all the games that have been played in the group stages I think the standard of football is as poor as it has ever been over the last 40 years. Ten teams in the senior championship should be reduced to 8 teams and hopefully the hocking that the weaker team's got might not happen. Same in the intermediate, reduce it down to 8 teams. Castleconnor drawing with Geevagh was enough to get to a knockout phase along with Calry who also won, and yes Farnans will take a knockout position after losing 3 games.
Jesus wept.

No major excitement over the weekend. I watched both streams as wasn't on for travelling out to both games. Coolera Molaise was a woeful boring game and Molaise especially will be wondering how did they not win it in the end with all the chances they had. But scoring just 2 points for almost 40 minutes is more an explanation of it. Marys on the other hand could have been out of sight at half time given the 9 wides and once again I was wondering could I claim a refund for the stream as it was a hard watch. Second half improved considerably but Marys the deserved winners. Big improvements needed by those three survivors to make semi finals only blessing is two of them meet, Coolera and Mary's.

In Junior and Intermediate all went according to plan.

Quick turnaround to this coming weekend for those in relegation and QFs. Tubbercurry I don't think will survive and Easkey will take account for them this weekend. Harps should work Marys.

Senior relegation has been pushed to the following weekend.

In inter a bad season continues for enniscrone after their final appearance last year.

It's now midday Monday and still none the wiser as to details for weekends fixtures - nothing on website not even the standard placeholders. Appears the only way to get information is have a contact on the ccc. Looks like the master calendar has been ignored for senior relegation schedule too.

The 2 streamed games were very poor affairs, Tourlestranne pulled away in second half against Tubber and Easkey got a narrow win. So no real surprises in senior other than maybe the quality of the 2 streamed games. Mary's v Coolera the pick of the quarter finals - perhaps they will be making a trip west to play it!

In intermediate - the real standout is Enniscrone finishing bottom of their group 11 months after being narrowly defeated in the final. They face a tough test in Geevagh too and could well end up in the relegation final. Farnans squeeze through but wouldn't expect them to progress any further while Castleconnor just about did enough - maybe their interference in official appointments paid off in the end. They have a very good chance of making a semi final now.

Onto junior and it really is Owenmore Gaels to lose. Good to see all first team make the knockout stages but probably a Owenmore Gaels v Molaise final based on form to date.

Fully agree with you on reduction of teams. For a county with what is it 24 football clubs no sense having 40% of them in senior. 8 teams in Senior Inter and Junior would make for far better competitions across the board and see better standard in Connacht at Inter and Junior level.

Mayo did their draw last night at 7pm and could have their fixtures out by 9. After good work from the ccc last year its like this year they've gone into reverse.

Some poor games at the weekend, not suprised with SMG and Coolera as it was a bit of a dead rubber, both doing some shadow boxing. However EH and Marys I thought would be do or die but looked like 2 teams not wanting to loose. I picked Marys to win Championship and so far they have not impressed but group form is not always the best measure. I think they will beat Coolera. Molaise also not showing great form but on paper they have a talented squad, Tourlestrane the team that was not expected to be in the QF and they look very together, will be the best of the QFs and will be close, could take ET. Calry should take Castleconnor and Ballymote with what look like and easy QF V Farnans. All that said if we actually get any fixtures for next weekend.
