They always looked good. There exceptional scoring power has been on display all season. It was and is a matter of whether they could stop conceding goals. They did a good job of that on Saturday.

Davy managed Clare to an all Ireland in 2013 and won two more as a player yet Clare people seem to be queuing up to cut the legs from under him any chance they get. Yes they've scored pretty well in all their championship games except in Salthill against Dublin. In the League they scored poorly against Tipp but importantly scored more week on week as it went on.

I guess he had to eventually get the job. I hope his tenure is more fruitful than his time at Galway, it remains to be seen if he'll make the difference. He'll have lots of time to concentrate on it.
