So happy with today's result. The best I hoped for was maybe a 1 or 2 point victory. Great performance. I hope Rory Burke is back for the Final. Galway Abu. SouthGalway (Galway) - Posts: 277 - 04/07/2026 23:18:52 2684264 Link 0 |

Well done to Galway. What a performance. Rabbitte, glennon, trayers were fantastic. When there's so much talk about 2 teams meeting in the final it often doesn't work out like that richiepmurphy (Kilkenny) - Posts: 131 - 05/07/2026 08:39:17 2684278 Link 0 |

Well done to Galway. Brilliant performance especially that 15 minutes after half time. Hopefully some of those munster pundits and fans can have more respect for the leinster championship richiepmurphy (Kilkenny) - Posts: 131 - 05/07/2026 08:44:17 2684279 Link 2 |

Great win for Galway, hope you go and win the whole thing now. Great to see Cork out too! RoyalStalwart24 (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 05/07/2026 10:12:45 2684285 Link 0 |

Brilliant win yesterday. All areas of the performance were superb. Morrisey, Glennon, Lee, Killeen excellent with bringing out the ball from the defence. ColmFlaherty (Galway) - Posts: 145 - 05/07/2026 10:21:24 2684287 Link 0 |

Should've won by 20, some poor wides and lots of them. Excellent performance overall.

The wides could have been 'somewhat' strategic too. We scored loads from range, and wides might be a price you pay for that. One advantage of wides, from your own defensive viewpoint, is that you'll be facing a set play puckout, as opposed to possible sudden turnover/counterattack. Galway were fairly comfortable all second half facing Cork's long puckouts. I don't watch much soccer anymore, but one team i did watch was PSG this year in their last few CL games. They went to Munich with a 1goal lead, and I was fairly sure that booting the ball deep into touch in Bayern's territory was a part of their 2nd leg gameplan. Helped slow the tempo, and minimise the chance of facing any quick counter attack off a turnover. Paris progressed on the night. That's one thing about Cork. They love mile a minute tempo, when they're on song. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4846 - 05/07/2026 12:50:34 2684311 Link 0 |
