Hurling Championship 2026

I am really looking forward to the 2 All Ireland Senior Hurling Semi Finals at the weekend.

I will stick with my gut feeling - Cork v Limerick final.

I think Limerick will win the Final.
Would love to see The Rebels win Liam, but I think they would need to play out of their skins and The Treaty men to have an off day….

Id be hoping Limerick win out from here, although I wont be gutted whoever wins it. There'd be reasons Id be happy for any of the other 3 to win it too as a neutral. Id be happy for Shane O'Donnell and Tony Kelly if Clare win, and happy for Galway to win for the friends up there who follow Galway teams at every level, and are happy to see us winning too the odd occasion we actually do win. Id even be happy for the Cork players if they finally got over that hurdle, even though some of their supporters are hard to listen to any time they do win something ;-)
Overall though Id only go on the beer for the night if Limerick win, of the last 4 teams standing!

Lads the media coverage of the semi final's is disgraceful.

In he Examiner.ie, the day before the all Ireland semi final and hardly a mention of Cork and Galway at all (looks like they got the memo about not hyping up Cork so they just ignored it altogether). They did include some lazy and biased reporting about Clare being hard done by referees against Limerick from 2022 to 2024.

On the Independent.ie, No mention of Cork v Galway (bar the teams) some Rehashed dribble about Limerick and Clare Rivalry.

I

In others they have Cork as finalists already.

Not too sure about the Horels, I tried to book the Burlington for All Ireland Final Night. It was 875 Euros.

Fair play to Galway. Am I surprised, yes. Shocked, no. Ive being saying it throughout, they have the scoring power to beat any team. It was a matter of whether they could stop leaking goals. They managed that. Congratulations. Whoever wins tomorrow will face formidable opposition.

Dublin look marginally less embarrassed now!

Not taking from Galway who were excellent but Cork fell apart. Again..

Between losing to bookies on ALL your bets , booking trains and hotels you don't need your certainty not having a good time. Enjoy.

Hurling is much better game to watch when the goalkeeper has no choice but go long with the puck out.

Congratulations, Galway! What a stirring, rousing performance! They're good enough to win it out with the talent and work rate that they have, irrespective if it's against Limerick or Clare (50-50 game that one).

So, the long wait for Cork gets longer...

All the pundits saying that Cork were bad in the second-half surprised me a bit. After all, they did show a 200% second half improvement in Croke Park from their last outing there. Last year it was only 2 points that they scored. At least, they got 4 this year!

Hell of a result in Croker today.
What a performance by Galway.
Not many tipped this scoreline.

Cork led by 1-12 to 1-07 after 30mins, and then 1-13 to 1-12 at HT
But yet another 2nd half calamity by the Rebels.
Only scored 5pts in the 2nd half compared to the Tribesmen's 1-14.
And Galway also had 14 wides I think it was.

Gonna take quite a bit for Cork to come back from this added to what happened v Tipp in the 2nd half of last year's final.

The hunger, determination, tracking back, defending, team work, calmness and tactics by Galway was outstanding.

Hopefully Galway go on now and finish the job and win Liam in a few weeks.

Congrats today Gaillaimh.
