Yep, its the classic (RTE) commentators throw away comment that makes no sense about the vast open spaces of Croke Park, not taking into account that the likes of Pearse Stadium (amongst other County ground) are actually either the same size as they are modeled on Croker or, in fact, larger!

An Spidéal, might just be the same size as well - its massive!

RIP Paul Clancy, extremely tough week especially for his family and friends, and all of Galway football fraternity.
He was such a lovely fella, and a stylish footballer.
A win on Sunday in croke Park would be a fitting tribute to our double All Ireland winner

Was thinking the exact same, getting the win on Sunday and hopefully bringing Sam Maguire back would be fitting considering he was key part of bringing it back in 01.

I always thought pearse stadium was one of the more narrow county grounds.

It's as wide as a GAA pitch can be, 90m.

More a case of those who cannot see what they are looking at. With regards to club grounds I remember hearing of Mayo staying in a hotel in Oughterard while preparing for one of their all Ireland finals and using Moycullen pitch to train in because its size being slightly bigger than Croke Park.I must admit that this is based on hearsay.

Very sad news about Paul Clancy. A lot of mention has been on his superb pass to Meehan in the 2000 replay but his point against Armagh in 2001 qualifier was arguably just as good if not more important. I vividly remember celebrating that point with my father at home when he put it over and it was a crucial moment on the way to going one step better later that summer.

As has been mentioned already, he was superb club man for Mhaigh Cuilinn and will not only be a huge loss for the club, but indeed football across the county. I sincerely hope the lads knock over a few two pointers in the same manner he did against Armagh on Sunday in tribute to his memory.

My heartfelt condolences to all in Galway GAA on the passing of Paul Clancy.
He was a tough footballer who played the game with class.
Following his playing career, by all accounts, he was exactly the kind of person every GAA club and county needs, doing hard work behind the scenes for the next generation.
