Another own goal by the county board. Give the players some certainty, less than a month away now…

You wouldn't mind if both options kept hurling and football on the same weekends for both options 1 & 2, that way at least players could plan the next 4-5 months of their life

Last Wednesday morning 8 division 1 clubs were told there last round of games were being moved from Friday night to Saturday night. 2 days notice they were given. All because one club wanted to change, the same club that wanted the championship format changed and got there way. All games had to be played at the same time. I heard both Athlone, Garrycastle and Kinnegad objected to the change of day but went too CCCC and were denied. Both Athlone and Garrycastle had weaken times due to alot of the players having other commitments. It didn't matter to Garrycastle but there heavy loss to Moate kept Moate up. While Athlone lost and got relegated. Another own goal. The said team got the result needed and stayed up.

Would the best option be to play two rounds of hurling weekends of 5th and 12th and start the football on weekend of July 26th, particularly with the run the footballers are on its a tough task to go straight into a clubs season on a 7-10 day break.

Two days notice certainly was a very short notice to change games, but at the end of the day Garrycastle were never going to go full strength and Athlone were well beaten, this doesn't make it right but potentially the same outcome regardless.

If rumors are though another own goal by you and other county board delegates

Will see you in Salthill in the padded seats im sure!"
Hope you hadn't booked a big venue Temple for your EGM you were beginning to organise about two months ago? Have you many or indeed any nominations for positions? Presume you're running for Chair?

I think we will see that the club's are going to suffer in this year's championship as our county lads are going to be wrecked after this monumental effort. If we lose on Sunday they will potentially have 3 games in 3 weeks on top of the 5 games so far. Straight into a club championship will be so unfair on them

Watched the new podcast, same as the old podcast but judging by the opening statement it appears there's no road back with the county board. Any reason why they didn't speak of the div5,6 and 7 league finals?

Killucan had a player getting married on the Thursday with half their team at it, so requested a weekend fixture months ago. No reason to change any other fixtures. All teams knew what result they needed to stay safe. Scoring difference wasn't an issue, and there is no rule to say that fixtures needed to be played at the same time.
Supposedly Athlone and Moate kicked up for them to be played at the same time and got their wish

Iarmhi TV lads may be better off continuing on their own with the podcast, given the backing or lack of backing they have received. Perhaps another €100 ticket draw on Monday after we bate Galway? Would we have enough money to cater for the team if we get to the All Ireland Quarter Final? The Slieve Russell would not be cheap. Supporters are entitled to ask questions when the message is that there is no money and there doesn't appear to be a clear plan for generating income streams, the podcast is an example.
