New fundraiser launched; seems a little steep at €100 but time will tell if successful. I guess anything raised is a bonus. OverTheHill85 (Westmeath) - Posts: 284 - 07/05/2026 22:56:12 2671523 Link 1 |

I presume the point here is sell as many at €100 that is possible. If they sell 100 that is €100,000 which would surely cover a couple months of training expenses.

Another draw? It's our second one in what 10 years? Tickets not cheap admittedly but inter county expenditure for teams is off the charts. What are we supposed to do??

Seems expensive but it's voluntary to buy one. One of the criticisms I've heard before is the failure to capitalise on the success of the Luke Dempsey / Paudi eras so a fundraiser is a good idea. Depends on what the buy in is. Bunbrosna GAA recently sold 200 tickets at €200 a pop in the space of a few weeks which I thought was remarkable. Considering the prizes on offer it's very steep. If it was 25 euro a ticket I'd stand on Jones road on Leinster final day selling them myself for the County board but asking for 100 is way out of touch.

Yeah I don't really get the pricing There's a great prize to be won, but even €25 a ticket would be way more viable. You'd think they'd have learned from the last draw.

Last year €100 gave you the chance to win a house in Spain plus 50 grand. Wmeath2 (Westmeath) - Posts: 207 - 08/05/2026 11:53:54 2671590 Link 2 |

"What are we supposed to do" Well maybe start with not charging €100 per ticket. Yourself and the other county delegates who have been having a free ride over the last 3/4 weeks because of the on field success have proven with this draw that you haven't leaned from the mistakes of last year! Clubs have been told they must all sell at least 50 tickets. Which is unfair, clubs should be kept out of this fundraiser. The buzz around the county should be enough to sell tickets without getting clubs involved. Clubs are finding it hard themselves to raise funds. Fair enough ask clubs can they share on social media etc. but very unfair to be putting pressure on them to sell! 1 ticket for €20, 3 tickets for €50 or 10 tickets for €100. Tickets would sell better if pricing structure was above as it allows everyone to buy a ticket. Younger people could buy 1 ticket at €20, some people will buy the €50 tickets and majority will probably just end up buying the €100 tickets because they would feel great value for 10 tickets for €100. Plenty of young college students out there who would love to support the county team after giving them 3 great days out. Where are they going to fork out €100???? I believe clubs asked county board could they rethink pricing structure and it was a hard no. They want people to fork out €100 for one ticket and want to put pressure on clubs to sell. Since new chairman was appointed I have not heard one thing mentioned about COE!!!!! Temple56 (Westmeath) - Posts: 646 - 08/05/2026 12:31:35 2671598 Link 0 |

I'll happily buy a ticket if I can read the terms and conditions of the draw anywhere! fizzygravy (USA) - Posts: 171 - 08/05/2026 12:38:53 2671603 Link 0 |
