Replying To MayoDan:  "Plenty of mayo fans nervous about this game and most Roscommon fans will fancy their chances of a win.

Definitely won't be a big upset if Roscommon win."
We certainly have a better chance in McHale Park than in Hyde Park. Roscommon haven't beaten Mayo in the championship in Hyde Park since 2001. We have two championship wins against Mayo in Castlebar over the last seven years. Hope Daire Cregg is allowed to play. Unlucky to be sent off in New York I think.

Exactly.. yet that other contributer reckons nobody expects anything from Roscommon

Mayo very Clinical, Galway very sloppy in possession and some awful poor misses in the second half. Mayo number 5 was outstanding. Wind had a big effect in the first half, Mayo had a brilliant defensive set up and nullified Galway two point opportunities.

Well from what I see on Roscommon forums, they don't rate Andy Moran as a manager and don't rate many of the Mayo players..

Your "expectation" that Roscommon carry the same form line from a dead rubber league game into championship is indeed what it is.

My expectation is irrelevant. The bookmakers and their punters placing the cash on is relevant.

What they are looking at and thinking is its hard to ignore a 20 point loss in the last meeting and Mayo won well in January also against Roscommon.

Your sage anaylsis is what we're interested in;

"trying to turn around that margin of defeat into a shock win in MacHale Park in a matter of weeks is unlikely let's be honest."

I wouldn't be too worried about the bookmakers.
