Well done to your minors beating Mayo tonight. Roscommon are in the Connacht Final. Are Sligo into the semi final now or what's the position with that.

No teams through yet. All of Galway, Mayo and Sligo can still qualify.
If there's a three way tie (which will come to pass if Sligo beat Leitrim and Mayo beat Galway in the final round) then scoring difference in the games between those 3 teams only decide who goes through.
Galway currently +4, Mayo -1 and Sligo -3 in that mini league.
Sligo will qualify if they beat Leitrim and Mayo fail to beat Galway.

Need to beat Leitrim which they should and hope Galway avoid defeat against Mayo which they should do also.

Still fairly wide open on the semi-final spots the way the mini-leagues play out. Galway very likely through, but a heavy defeat (8 or more) in their last game to Mayo & it could be Mayo/Sligo in the semi. Even Leitrim can potentially still make the 3rd spot yet (a 5 point win over Sligo and Galway beating Mayo).

Any win for Mayo from 1 to 7 points puts Mayo/Galway through.
A Mayo win by +8 puts & a Sligo win puts Mayo/Sligo through.
Any result for Galway (draw or win) & a result for Sligo (draw or win) puts Galway/Sligo through.
A Galway win & a 5 or more points Leitrim win puts Galway/Leitrim through.
A Leitrim win with 4 or less puts Galway/Mayo through.

The quietest run in to a championship game in a long long time on here. I'm expecting a Sligo victory today perhaps not by what the bookies expect but 5/6 points. I don't even think there's any point in discussing the starting 15 announced as it'll probably see 4/5 changes to it before they line out. Will be interesting to see what sort of a crowd turns out. Could struggle to go beyond 5k given the mood in both counties as well as cost pressures.

I read a fairly bland interview by Sloyane. Keeps mentioning that we remained in Div 3 and we have introduced new players. I think it's time for a new script. Hopefully today is the day that we see tangible results from the new mgt team. Like previous posters have said the team that is named will have several changes and players that are not named in the 26 might mysteriously start. It happened earlier in the league campaign. and Conor Sheridan will not start at full back. An attendance of 5k is fairly optimistic with general apathy in both camps at the moment plus fuel shortages and the chance of getting stuck in a slow moving protest. I think we will win but not by a lot.
Finally well done to the minor team on a great win on Friday played in atrocious weather.

Well done to Leitrim, huge win for them.

Hard to know where this experiment is going. Survived Division 3 by the kick of a ball and now out on the first day against a team that finished second from bottom of the entire league system. If I was performing this bad in my job with the tools at my disposal I'd be out the door.

Plenty of soul searching for Sligo after that home championship defeat.

Leaving the pitch today I thought of what one of our present managers said on the Sunday Game about the manager at that time when we were beaten by London. " The players deserve better than this " We had chances at the end to draw level but we are so weak mentally that we fluffed them, in one instance refused a gilt edge chance. I don't know where we go from here. I congratulate Leitrim. They fully deserved to win. All the rubbish talk that I alluded to in my post before the game came home to roost. Where's this big panel that they are developing? Sorry but I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel and we have been fed so much garbage that it's difficult to have confidence going forward.

My original post didn't make it I see. This is an embarrassment. Leitrim fully deserved their win, were mentally hungrier and managed the game very well when it was in the melting pot.

This is the one time the management stuck with the starting 15 players and we reaped the rewards. It's totally unfair to take lads off at half time and expect lads who got damn all league time to rescue it when we were 9/10 points down. It's demoralising for the lad coming off and also expecting a lot from a more experienced player/s who performed in bigger games in previous years.

Our kickouts were a major issue again but that's always been the case this year when certain people are playing.
It would have been a robbery had we scored one of the two frees at the end, but an attempt at it was better than what actually happened.

We all, players and supporters deserve better. Beating Leitrim at home should be a cert given the run they've had the last two years. They worked their socks off and we were still only a point off having played so poorly…but a moral victory of the likes of Leitrim is not acceptable.

Eamon O Hara should be thanked for his time and let Dessie take over as outright manager for the Tailteann Cup. Serious regression from the Sligo team than was so close to beating Galway under McEntee two years ago.

Bit harsh, Leitrim had their strongest panel out since Poacher took over and had some great victories that merited a far better finish than 2nd last in league, more like you underestimated us and we caught you cold.
We came back from losing to NY to getting promoted the following year and Sligo will come back as well, would rather avoid Sligo in the TC as revenge will be sought

Well done Leitrim and credit where its due. From a Sligo point of view, its Shameful. We are supposed to be further down the road in our development than the liked of Leitrim and today showed us up and is as far as I'm concerned an all time low for Sligo senior football.
Listening on the radio seemed like there was no Sligo support. Can anyone give us a run down on team selection ?
Evan Lyons missing? Paul Kilcoyne starting and Niall Murphy getting hooked.

Why do you want to know a run down on the team selection. I can understand that you might not be able to get to the game but there are loads of apps and twitter that will give you all the information you want. You are obviously not really a supporter

Tbf, Leitrim always had their sights on Connaught this year, Handy enough side of the draw with Sligo as a good warm up before the Galway test at home.

It's bad but definitely not an all time low. I think we lost every single game one of the years Paul Taylor was in charge?

Where's our chief analyst gone from this forum who was so desperate to see a change in management? Anyone making excuses is in dreamland. A shocking result.
