How are we not being humble?

We wish him the best . But it's absolutely sickening to loose this young star. He was probably going to bettter then David Clifford even .

He could still well come back in 5 years he will only be 22. I don't think it's us that 'need to stay humble ' ! ."
Better than David Clifford? What are you smoking?

Galway put out half the Milltown team last night...
But sure ya ye are flying"
Never once said we are flying. I said we are rebuilding.

Also it was all new players Andy put out against your so called ' Miltown ' players . At least we have some great underage players coming up. Unlike Galway....

Replying To jm25:  "When people on here are saying he's better than Clifford at that age he's been overhyped.

No doubt he's a class act but I've seen plenty of 17 year olds particularly in Galway hurling be destined for greatness and not make it to senior inter county

I fancy he will be back it's very young to be going he hasn't even left home to go to college let alone other side of world

Mullen hit the sweet spot going at his age."
Ah here one poster who i don't even reply to is saying that. Nobody else. I said he's nailed on for Mayo seniors. As were Mullen and Hanley. That's not overhyping. I am saying we would be a Mayo senior starter if he stayed. Argue against me if you want.

Kobe gone to Australia... he saw doom and gloom ahead in Mayo..

Ballina bet out the gate today..
Is that the best club football can offer?

You can't blame Kobe if he makes it in Australia with the money that's on offer, if he was half as good a Gaelic footballer as his father I'd say he'd walk onto any Mayo team, big loss for Mayo, we'll see how he does now down under.
On the bright side I see Cillian O'Connor is back for next season.

Did Hanley not play some senior before leaving?

Ballina were never gonna beat Bridgits lets be honest at least . Bridgits came close to winning the all Ireland 18 months ago they are just miles ahead of Ballina. Ballina were always going into today with more of hope then anything.

He did 2 games my point is......again..... at the same age as Kobe Hanley was being talked about in the same way. Absolutely nailed on for Mayo seniors. Kobe would be as well if he stayed .

S1234 (Clare from the blog and aka JimB1991), sure you posted the following on the club Championship thread, "Your forgetting about another big connacht club Ballina who are in with a big shout and down as 3rd favourites to win the All Ireland ....! Why because no one ever can be potentially better then precious Clifford ? Great footballer but you lot down in Kerry seem to think no one will ever be better then him which alone is ridiculous .

Lol funny you felt the need to repost the comment. Yes I thought Ballina would do better . Though realistically I never thought they would win. We never do well in club . Sure a Mayo team has not gotten far in Connacht in 10 years for crying out loud !

That comment I left was more tongue in cheek stuff and if you don't get that then well what can I say haha

Ah yeah it was fairly nailed on he'd play senior same with Conor Mortimer Sam Callanan Aidan ose at that age too were in same bracket it's not extra ordinary.

What I'm disputing is more then one here has said on here is he's destined to be a superstar at senior level

Michael Meehan is another at that age who had done a lot more for jarlaths caltra and Galway underage then Kobe has yet and his senior career until towards end was underwhelming.

For every Marty Clarke mcbrearty Clifford there are numerous players who don't come through

Ask anyone in Galway 30 years ago who is the surest 17/18 year old that will be a senior for Galway you likely wouldn't have been told Savage Joyce Donnellan or Clancy as no 1

Matthew Thompson is 20 and was recently nominated for an all star and young footballer of the year

Galway have also won an u20 all Ireland and a minor all Ireland much more recently than Mayo have

As for saying McDonald, who was a decent to good minor and had played a few good games in a very average club championship, was likely to be better than Clifford, who was the best minor the GAA has ever seen...
