Is there a reason as to why a player wouldn't wear gloves in them conditions. Are they well in the head some of todays players? 51longago (Mayo) - Posts: 2981 - 12/06/2011 14:59:41 953417 Link 0 |
Think this shows how weak connaught is when two division 4 teams are contesting a semi-final... Surely mayo or galway should win connaught. square_ball_69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 826 - 12/06/2011 15:39:49 953453 Link 0 |
And some posters from Connacht have the Gall to knock Ulster football after watching today's drivel from the Roscommon game I think they need to catch themselves on and think before posting such utter tripe. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 12/06/2011 15:45:27 953456 Link 0 |

Against good oppisition... Not someone struggling to scrape 7th in division 4... I'd like to see what wexford would to the teams playing today. square_ball_69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 826 - 12/06/2011 16:01:29 953481 Link 0 |

Steamroll westmeath... Ha ye won't get a chance for a while anyway when yere a division behind us. square_ball_69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 826 - 12/06/2011 16:13:58 953505 Link 0 |
Dreadful match in poor conditions. Settled myself to watch a good tight game but must say I was so disappointed with Leitrim particularly. Roscommon were better but still poor. My own county is similarly talent challenged , but I'd say we would probably beat Roscommon without too much fuss. Disappointing. Hope the hurlings better. gaelantrim (Antrim) - Posts: 1616 - 12/06/2011 16:23:55 953519 Link 0 |

It was a poor game but that wasn't Roscommon's fault. I thought they did O.K. not a Championship winning team but enough there to give any team a lot of trouble. All you can do is beat what is in front of you and they did that easily. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 12/06/2011 16:56:46 953570 Link 0 |
It must be the weather the Donegal Cavan game was also abysmal . fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 12/06/2011 17:05:55 953584 Link 0 |
Keep yer hair on Ross. Both Antrim and Roscommon are poor ok. It's just I think wee are a bit poorer than you. We have some decent players also. Kevin mcgourty his brother CJ can both play a bit. Are we not a division higher than you anyway? gaelantrim (Antrim) - Posts: 1616 - 12/06/2011 17:08:34 953592 Link 0 |

at least Roscommon went out and attempted to play football (unlike so many other teams in the championship) - kicking the ball into forwards valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1903 - 12/06/2011 18:26:21 953833 Link 0 |
Its not just Connacht football, its all over the country the standard is dropping. Theres 4 teams that you wudnt be surprised to see winning Sam, Cork, Kerry, Tyrone and Dublin, miles ahead of the pack at present, anyone else would be a shock thebear10 (Galway) - Posts: 68 - 12/06/2011 18:52:37 953921 Link 0 |
Well Westmeath were 2 divisions ahead of us not so long ago and I would defintly not rate them higher than us. Laois were 2 divisions ahead of Longford and longford should have beaten them. Antrim will be in the same division next year after been the whipping boys of division 2 so the argument will be settled next season. Roscommon are a coming team they are still one of the youngest sides in the country. The captain is only 23. After the quagmire we were in a few years ago we have made significant progess and while an AI winner will not come from connacht, despite todays game connacht football is infinetly more entertaining than ulster. Some of the posts from non connacht men here is laughable, To score 2-12 in those conditions take's some doing regardless how poor Leitrim were today. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 12/06/2011 21:49:39 954351 Link 0 |
I agree the conditions were tough and to be honest Roscommon played some decent football in spurts. Nick (Wexford) - Posts: 1100 - 13/06/2011 13:09:18 954850 Link 0 |
