Replying To Doylerwex:  "We haven't beaten Dublin in the championship since 2018. We've drawn twice and they've beaten us by a couple of points in other meetings. I don't think it's fair to say we haven't been near a Leinster final. We've only just missed out on a few occasions.

The last two years have been really poor though."
Asked a couple lads did we still have and what they thought of our sports psychologist and they told me that alot of our players arent bought in.
Seemingly the same with Bernard Dunne.

Replying To ElGranSenor:  "In terms of funding, I suppose just how much would be brought in to specifically sponsor players (If I'm remembering your proposal correctly)? And to play devil's advocate, you could argue it pushes the game further away from amateurism and towards professionalism? Also, how many players were unavailable this year but would've been available because of funding?

I might be misremembering your proposal so apologies if I am and I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I think these are the questions you'd have to be able to address if you were to put it in place"
We need to get a top class management team in place over the coming weeks so they can get out to view as many club games as possible. Then come September/October that management team need to draft a training panel. Then they need to do everything in their power to get the best players in Wexford playing for us again .

Replying To Viking66:  "Also our lads werent fit enough this year. 2 different players told me that the fitness block at their 2 different clubs was way tougher than the fitness work our county hurlers did. That shouldn't be the case at all."
It was clear we could only hurl in fits and starts this year. So many times our lads looked out on their feet. Their is no excuse for that and thats on the management team

Another year in the books, yesterday was par for course on a really abject year and a tough year for us going around the country. Dublin game in the league was probably the height of it, the scenery and dolphins in Portaferry also.

Hard to take any real positives, looking back now, Kildare having scored only 1-6 after 45 mins in Newbridge and still being well in the game probably should have set alarm bells ringing. The likes of Roche, OLeary and Byrne getting championship game time may be the only consolation, but for us to improve, fellas 25 and under will need to make a pretty seismic jump next year. S and C and first touch as well seem to be way below Liam McCarthy standard tbh.

Not based in Wexford myself due to work, and admittedly not exactly ear to the ground on the underage scene below minor at home and often relying on here for info, and will always salute anyone who gives up their evenings to go coach kids and harness the future of their club and our county, in particular the lads on here and how passionate they are about it….but can't help but feel if the report from the end of last year from a fellow parishioner of mine isn't bought into hook, line and sinker by all clubs and the county board, we'll only be codding ourselves in the long run.

The headline alone hit the nail on the head, as Michael Verney said on the Wexford hurling podcast last week, a rising tide will lift all boats.

Agree 100%. 1st qualification would be a manager the players truly believed in, so preferably a players manager who has a strong line of success at club and intercounty level.
Heard strong rumours about Davy returning. I thought he shouldve been supported more in doing an extra year in 2022, as in 2021 he did start blooding some more players, though he famously didnt trust them in the Leinster SF when it went to extra time. For me he would need to show he has his mojo back, hed have to come across as really really enthusiastic and bulling for road, have his research done on available players etc etc. The players themselves seemingly arent against the idea. And Antrims were entirely unsupportive of the attempt to get rid of him up there.
Still think Id prefer Tom Mulally myself though.
