If the VC is also on a red, or the joint-captain as many teams have nowadays, are also on reds along with the captain, the most senior member of the team should lift the cup and give a good speech. We can't have bad example set for the young people watching the game, whereby a player who does not participate in a fair and ethical manner, is allowed to be the mouth-piece for the team.
This would not be allowed in the United States of America."
Only one mouthpiece Yank and you stare at him every morning when you're washing your face.
Great game and a dream final for young Martin who replaced West Ham bound Kerr…he kicked 0-3 from play including the winning score. Thought Kerry had it after two double pointers with the breeze putting them 4 points ahead entering the last 10 minutes. Tyrone suddenly started to dominate and came with a very strong finish , missed chances ensured a very close score at the end. Feel for the young Kerry forward not fisting the equaliser, just took a step too far into traffic. Watching on Tg4 and tuned to Radio Kerry commentators Tim and Ambrose were roaring for a penalty but I played it back and saw no obvious foul. Feel that had he gone to ground earlier the ref would have awarded a tap over free for the draw. Both teams gave their all, great contest.

Agreed no foul and before it their was a slight tug on the arm to give a free and I've seen some refs give frees for that but again for me not enough in it. The opportunity to bring the match into extra time not taken before Kelliher before he hit the ground.

Also a lovely gesture to go to the memorial of where Aidan Mcanespie was shot. No doubt young Darren Mccanespie and his family along with Vincent Gormleys family are very proud. Just shows you how hard it's been for families though the years in the north of ireland to keep GAA going through the troubles and how brilliant it is now that they can play in peace with pride. At least 3 Sam Maguires? high expectations you have. Worth nothing since U18/U21 grades moved to U17/U20 level the same success rate hasn't happened at senior level as it's become a bigger step up. Tyrone should win at least one Sam in the coming years after that remains to be seen.
