Late developer ? One of Rathnure top performers all year from start of club league games. Cant become that good overnight. Maybe they just skipped him as like you say he did not play County Minor. And decided bringing in 8 County minors from 2024 was better than looking out for late developers. A certain Charlie Mooney not too bad either and was not part of the U20 County panel . Anyway loads of examples out there of fellas up to the age that played very well at the top level only Months after the 20s lost to Laois. And nearly all didn't play Minor..

Replying To Timbertony:  "Lawlor & Ryan are massive losses for KK. Thought TJ looked on his last legs in the club game last week They will just get on with it though. On the face of it, all the Leinster teams look like they will struggle next year to compete for an AI but I guess Tipp showed fortunes can change quickly with a committed group of players and management.

In terms of having a committed group of Wexford players next year, the rumour mill is concerning for sure. Unlike Tipp we don't have young guys stepping out of successful underage squads to push older lads off the panel. There might be a few like Barrett and Barry O'Connor who are good enough to be on a championship panel but not many.

Many of those in the first group above have been riddled with injuries for a few seasons now, Mac and Liam Ryan. If the body isn't able for playing week to week, like the round robin calls for, then I could understand if they walked away. Shane Reck would be a massive loss, he's our best defender/man marker. Id like to think he has more to give. The two other Gorey lads have been given every chance but have never consistently brought their club form to county level."
Tbf, even Shane Reck didn't play a lot of minutes last year, think people would also best advised to remember just how little Jippo and Mac player across the last two years as well, they're losses for sure but they've essentially been losses for a while now

McGuckian is great physically and has a great mentality but I just don't think he's a senior inter-county hurler. Dunbar is a little bit of loss, still has something to contribute but he has been around for a while and hasn't nailed down a spot, same goes for Mikie Dwyer. Eoin Ryan low-key a big loss there, think he's been a real plus point for us in 2024 and 2025

Have to remember that the following are still young and should all be still improving:

Cian Molloy
Richie Lawlor
Tucker Kinsella
Cian Byrne
Corey Byrne-Dunbar
Conor Foley
Darragh Kehoe
Eoin Whelan
Jack Redmond
Luke Codd
Éamon Wickham
Seán Rowley
Simon Roche
Cillian Byrne
Michael Dundon
Darragh Carley
Oisín Pepper
David Codd

Don't know what's his status but saw someone on here say that Paudie Foley is back training. Now he would be a game-changer alright, the spine of our defence hasn't really been the same ever since he left

Could also bring back the likes of Conor Forman and Mike Kelly back into the squad and then could maybe introduce the likes of Mike Coleman, Seán Cooper and then one of the Doyles from Davidstown

Charlie Mooney did play club minor last year. And didnt stand out last year to the public either, as he wasnt allowed to play adult as he was still a minor. He wasnt on the county u19 panel last year either. Afaik hes on the u20 panel this year.
Hindsight is all very well, but a year ago, more even, when the u20 team/panel was picked neither of the 2 lads had stood out to me at any stage, and Id watch alot of Intermediate games. And obviously hadn't stood out to the u20 selectors. Or maybe had, but had turned down the invitation.

Paudie played wingback last time he was in the Senior panel. Conor Firman was a cornerback. Agree both would be an addition.
Mike Kelly never left the squad. Think Cathal Parker is still on the panel from last year too.
You missed out James Byrne and Niall Murphy in your list of younger players also, both terrific hurlers and only a year or 2 older than many on your list. Joe Conroy and Mossy Murphy good hurlers who were county u20 in 2021. Pad O'Connor off that team usually scores well for Blackwater too. Lads who have looked good at Intermediate.
