Just stop rambling and answer my question: Is there any evidence that Tullamore was chosen in order to "suit the bulk of the supporters who will attend the game". Looks like MesAmis can't support his wild statement either. Aibrean (Kerry) - Posts: 344 - 11/06/2025 12:51:32 2616636 Link 0 |
Wasn't responding to your question in the first place and certainly not answering your question you have no right to demand. What does it matter what evidence anyone has regarding choice of venue. Whether it was or not chosen based on majority of supporters, the GAA should take credit in doing so as for majority that means less time on the roads which is good for safety and cost of majority overall. GAA will also make more as a result. If you think for some other reason Tullamore was chosen, maybe you would like to share it? For some reason these has become a really sensitive subject for Kerry folk. Maybe there is a realisation that this could be a tough contest for them. Will you be travelling yourself? winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 680 - 11/06/2025 16:56:21 2616734 Link 3 |
What's wild about looking at a map? Tullamore suits the majority of supporters interested in attending this game. Nothing "wild" about that. Seems a good venue choice. Well done to the CCCC. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13817 - 11/06/2025 20:03:45 2616777 Link 4 |
I expect a tough contest and hoping for the best.To my knowledge Kerry will be missing four key players. Our two midfielders Diarmuid O Connor and Barry Dan O Sullivan aswell as our centre forward Paudie Clifford and Full forward Paul Geaney. .Even with those lads I would expect a close contest.Without them it will he even more interesting. All teams have to learn to cope with injuries with such a short season.Every team seem to have key players struggling. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3971 - 11/06/2025 22:10:23 2616792 Link 0 |
I'm expecting an enormous crowd now from Kerry for the All Ireland QF. If so many of them have been put out by this venue decision and cant go then theres no excuse not to go to the QF. An extra couple of weeks will of passed and around 2 months since the last home game so I'm sure they'll be itching to get to Croke Park for the QF. trimmer (Meath) - Posts: 545 - 12/06/2025 08:53:23 2616837 Link 3 |
I'll try again, for the last time. Here is what I asked you: "But the decision to play in Tullamore was made to suit the bulk of the supporters who will attend the game". Can you support this statement? A little bit of evidence, maybe ? I'll spell it out. It's the DECISION I'm talking about. How do you know how or why the DECISION was made? I'm not interested in your opinion or even your speculation; can you tell us - with some supporting evidence - how or why the DECISION was made by the CCCC? Unless you are on the CCCC, or you have some contact in the CCCC, I can't see how you would know what the logic behind the decision was. I've no idea why they chose Tullamore but if it was to annoy whiney , entitled yerras then I fully support it Breffni40 (Cavan) - Posts: 12387 - 12/06/2025 11:48:39 2616894 Link 2 |
Common sense, which you have none of.

So you were not responding to my post? I must have a ghost wandering about Meath! Replying To Aibrean: ""But the decision to play in Tullamore was made to suit the bulk of the supporters who will attend the game". Can you support this statement? A little bit of evidence, maybe ?" Since when did Kerry supporters travel well for all ireland qualifiers. Expect Meath to outnumber Kerry supporters by about 5-1. That would have been the case in Portloaoise too and while they would outnumber Kerry supporters in Thurles, the drop off would have been quite a few. Tullamore was a logical choice given Portlaoise was being used aswell. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 673 - 10/06/2025 19:50:46 Aibrean (Kerry) - Posts: 344 - 12/06/2025 12:21:05 2616903 Link 0 |
I've heard more uproar about that than enough, what uproar would there be if they were out of the championship and everyone had to sit at home?? Get over it and play the game, same for Kerry, travelling balances out over the year and it's the same for everyone, these poor me stories would give you a pain in the ass.

Not to worry, in three or four years all the neutral games will be played in Belfast in New Casement Park to pay it off! boxtyburgerbuns (Leitrim) - Posts: 357 - 12/06/2025 13:27:30 2616934 Link 0 |
Hardly as big as the crowd you will bring to Croker.Sure its right beside you and you have had huge crowds the last few years i presume.Meath have a population one and a half times the size of Kerry also.Id say Meath will fill croke park with your poulation and only a stones throw away from you.

There's a difference between responding to your post and answering questions you demanded in the post. I think it's time you got over your bickering about this subject. Logic won out at the end of the day and fair play to the GAA committee here. You may as well just embrace and enjoy a nice trip up to the Midlands and take in a stop or two on the way. When was the last time Kerry played in Tullamore?

The Kerry crowd would gladly accept Tullamore then. Although, Farranfore to BCA could be an option?

As for the game itself, have Kerry and Meath met in championship since 2001? Don't think it will go like that game. But anything could happen. A Meath win would be nice, but Kerry will probably want to top the group, so will probably win this game handily. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2305 - 12/06/2025 20:24:23 2617039 Link 0 |
Yes Forever. Kerry and Meath have met 3 times since 2001.All Ireland semi final 2009 and the super 8s in 2019 aswell as last years group game. Meath have a good chance as they strong around the middle. Kerry are missing 6 players from the first 15 through injury including our two midfielders so maybe Meath will have the edge around the middle. Both teams have qualified but both will want to go through on top of group. They played each other last year in Navan in the All Ireland group stage. Kerry won well.

Kerry last played at Tullamore in 2009 when they beat Antrim in the qualifiers.

5 instead of 6 missing now should David Clifford play as selected. All out though give Meath a better chance to fight it out for 1st place if they are good enough.

Why not Waterford. It's equal distance from Tralee and Navan. Might promote football there. 19616609 (Louth) - Posts: 1702 - 13/06/2025 00:05:33 2617077 Link 1 |
