Replying To winatallcost:  "I think from Meath point of view on Morris, it was his skill execution rather than pressure from McCole that resulted in a below par performance.
He showed have made the pass to Costello for a goal chance after a barnstorming run. Had another good run in 2nd half and blazed wide and also a 2 point effort wide plus another short. He kicked a point but with the possession he had, he should have done alot more and this had little or nothing to do with McCole. I would put it more down to a Morris off day."
When Morris made the barnstorming run from deep in his own half, who anticipated the pass, left his opponent, made the interception and came out with the ball. Yes, McCole. He has it all, he reads the game, and can do it tough or do it with style, whichever way you want it.

Replying To winatallcost:  "Wouldn't agree. Rafferty better one on one, attacks ball harder and drives forward with power and pace. OK Gallen scored heavily in 2nd half but Meath were overrun in 2nd half and McCole rarely tested without cover. I still think McCole may get an all-star but let's see how he does on Clifford. At moment Roarty, Rafferty and McCole will be likely back 3 but Rafferty has to be nailed on. Foley could get in if Kerry win final while Mogan may be a wing back."
Give me 2 of whatever you are having.

Replying To peiledoir20:  "The only commonality McCole and Rafferty have this season in Sam Mulroy.

He got a sole point off McCole and got 1-7 off Rafferty.

There's your answer.

You're the shame fella that was trying to tell us last week that we were totally dependent on Murphy yet we scored 2-10 in the 25 minutes he was off the field on Sunday."
Mullroy scored a peno,a two pointed free,a 45 and 2 other frees. What do you expect Rafferty to do go in goal and save the peno and then stand on the crossbar to stop the points?

Mulroy was Centre forward in Leinster final. Rafferty was on Downey. Only commonality may be Clifford. He scored 5 pts on Rafferty, 1f, 1x2pt and 2 from play but the 2 pt was really off Lavin.
Let's see how McCole does. My memory is of a young McCole getting a skinning from an aging Michael Newman in a Div. 2 league final around 2019. I think McCole was pulled at HT and McGee came in a roughed up Newman.
I'm not saying McCole isn't a top notch defender now and a likely All-star if he holds his own against Clifford, just not at expense of Rafferty.

Rafferty didn't mark mulroy in the leinster final, he marked downey, do your research.

Oh you'll have to forgive me, the way you Meath boys were talking about Rafferty being the best man marker in the country I obviously thought he would have marked Louth's most dangerous forward that day. Maybe the Meath management slipped up there. Rafferty obviously would have held him scoreless. Clearly.

I think this is one of those differences of opinion drawn from separation of teams through provinces and divisions.

Meath have had no reason to know who McCole was until Sunday, hence your memory being him as a U21 in 2019. He's been a star man on a Sigerson Cup and two Ulster Champ winning teams since then.

Rafferty is potentially very good, but McCole is elite, has been for a while, and is winning trophies. You'd struggle to find anyone outside of Meath to agree.

Rafferty and McCole are both nailed on for All Stars at the minute. If Clifford tears McCole a new one his prospects could be damaged.

Jees there's some propaganda from the Meath lads about 'Nailed on' for Rafferty.

Hype is something your county does well.

That's it.

I look at Rafferty actions for the first Donegal goal and I cannot see how some people regard him as one of the best defenders in the country. It was school boy defending.
