Replying To CiarraiMick:  "Agree. I'm not complaining at all. I'm just explaining why it's so costly. I remember last year Kerry had to pay 13000 é in advance for quarter final for hotel and if Kerry had nt qualified the money was lost. Our hurlers had to fly up as the hotels were gone crazy. Anyway you right. It's a a pointless arguement as the rewards are great."
G'wan outta that Mick. Kerry hurlers flying around the place. Sure jayzis, us Dubs can only afford an aul HiAce with tha lads squashed in the back. I must have a word with the Marty fella to see if he can get us an upgrade to Renault Traffic or something. :)

Not one to take sides here Joxer but in fairness kerry have lots of travel costs....

Sure didnt their hurlers get a chartered flight back to kerry after the Joe McDonagh Cup Final last year...

Oh wait, sorry - they got that FOC - Kerry Airport chartered it for them.... well for some eh... ;o)

Some counties really should not be crying the poor mouth, when they are so very well looked after...
;o) lol

Apologies for the interruption. Carry on.... ;o)

Fellas flying to games now, Mick? That infamous Padraig Flynn
of-the-three-houses-maintenance on The Late Late Show from years ago came to mind as I read your post!

Good work lad. Sure that €1.6m that they spend on IC teams each year goes on player expenses don't you know. All of their players live in Kerry and they get free flights. Maybe they're claiming back their weekly shopping in LIDL :)

Kerry Airport spotted an opportunity to advertise. Opportunistic. All other McDonagh counties have a short enough journey to Croke Park.

Just an fyi - a lot more tickets now available on Ticketmaster for the Kerry v Derry AI Semi Final all of a sudden.

Have a feeling it will be the same for the other semi and TC Final within the next few days.

So for anyone who has not yet got a ticket - keep checking daily.

TBH - I have no idea why they do this or maybe it is just tickets returned from respective county boards, I dunno...

Anyway, hopefully more tickets come online for the, as now, sold out fixture....

In relation to purchasing of match tickets, I find Super valu or Centra quite reliable in accessing tickets for the games during the season.

Yeah Forever but they Cound nt get hotels. In fact it's now cheaper to fly to Dublin than get hotels. Prices of hotels are crazy in in Ireland and Dublin in particular since the Russian war as many hotels housing Ukrainian refugees. However it's still more practical to travel up night before and stay in hotels of possible and be fresher.

It's generally tickets returned by county boards, from the various club allocations. They usually have up to a certain date to use the allocation, then tickets left over are put back on general sale.

There are no club allocations in Monaghan for this semi-final

I see loads of comments on Facebook mocking Brolly for having 1 All Ireland compared to Jackie Tyrrell's multiple All Ireland's. They ignore the fact that Derry has a very small football population and at least Derry field teams in football and hurling. Kilkenny essentially cheat by using all their resources on hurling and not even entering a team in the football league.
People should be praising Derry's 1 All Ireland, not mocking it.
I think I need to stop reading Facebook comments.

I agree with you. All Ireland medals don't define a players ability. Enda Muldoon was a better player than some with more medals. Ciarán Whelan has no medal and imo was one of the best midfielders in the country for years. Lots of top players with no medals like Dermot Early Jnr and snr. Glen Ryan Lee Keegan Colm Boyle Val Daly GayMcManus Damien Comer Ciarán McManus Tony McManus Declan Browne etc. They are players as good as any players.

You do. Needless to say those doing the mocking don't even have a parish U12 community games medal never mind an AI medal.

Brolly is one of the nastiest pundits on irish television, I wouldnt have a lick of sympathy for him.

All Ireland medals are won by having 14 excellent players as team mates.
It's not an indicator of ability.
John Divilly has 1 or 2 AI medals, Conor McManus has none (yet)

Brolly always has too much tom say, bit like Dunphy he doesn't know when to shut up but he does make lots of valid points at times imo,
His comments on Tubridy's rehearsed performance at the PAC were spot on for example.
I wouldn't regard how good a player was by the amount of All Ireland medals he has, only for a rain soaked Clones in '93 I don't think Joe would even have 1 medal, again imo.

What teams do you class as Northen teams??
I hate that statement, I never hear anybody say western eastern or southern teams.

Which county's fall into the northen teams bracket?
