Replying To PattyONeill:  "I am expecting a defeat against Kerry, I recall watching the 2004 semi in section 302 I think.

Something I noticed today is that Mayo people call their mothers "mam". We in county Derry tend to call out mother's "the mother"."
You need to get out more!
It's mam or mammy in most of non Americanised Ireland.

Overall a disappointing weekend of football..it would be great to see at least one of the ulster teams in final but probably hard to see.Derry will trouble Kerry but I can see Kerry just being to good..delighted for Beggan and McManus to get another huge day out, they have been super players for Monaghan.hard to them having enough to really come near the dubs who for 20 mins of second half looke superb..the bench is especially different to the other 3 teams left..looks like Kerry v Dublin in final for me..can I also just say I love the Conor glass attitude,no matter what happens he just gets on with things..I also love watching mckeige.

It wasn't between his knees. It was between his lower legs.

Can someone tell me if it was possible for Kerry to draw Dublin in the semi final today..I just knew that before the draw today that Kerry and Dublin would not draw each other. Very convenient for the GAA.

Monaghan and Derry couldn't meet having played previously

Monaghan and Derry met already so they had to be separated.

Replying To Jjoniel79:  "Dublin were nowhere near being competitive for a god 10 years, then they had a shake up of their structures and now they're the standard in football and are making strides in hurling.

Cork started to twist and whine over money when you were looking like winning both all irelands and yous have achieved nothing since. Infighting and messing like that doesn't happen in Dublin, Kilkenny, Limerick and Kerry these days."
Respectfully, you haven't much of a clue about Cork GAA. What you're saying was the truth roughly 10/15 years ago.
Best of luck vs Dublin.though.

Fair enough chief if that's your gig but it's still the same result! Knees, ankles, thighs, whatever! Once the ballis on the deck it must be chipped off it, did you ever play or ref?

Monaghan couldn't get Derry as they have met already so meant had to get either Kerry or Dublin hence why Dublin and Kerry didnt draw each other.

If Armagh , Kerry, Derry Dublin all won, it would have been an open draw.

If Armagh Kerry Cork and Dublin won it would have been Kerry vs either Armagh or Dublin (not Cork)

More crazy conspiracy theory stuff. If Cork had beaten Derry then Dublin and Kerry could have been drawn together. Equally, if Mayo hadn't imploded against Cork, Kerry would have had to play a preliminary quarter final and could have then drawn against Dublin in the quarter final.

Kildare were comfortable alright until the Dubs played them away. Just as well the Dubs are playing at home as they've been laying waste to the opposition in Cork, Laois, Limerick and Kilkenny this year. Take the Dubs out of Dublin more is what we want.

Well done to Derry today, we really couldn't get a foot hold in the game.
We poached a goal but the Derry response was immediate & a quality goal to be fair.
At times we took pot shots & were careless when passing to team mates in attacking areas.

Going forward we need to get into Division 1 football & get accustomed to the game at the highest level.

New format has worked out well after initial complaints. The advantage to winning the province and then to win your group is there to be seen now. There is alot of games in the groups to knock out 4 teams but overall its what people want, more championship games. And next year everyone knows each game does matter and you want to top the group.

I'd agree. There was a lot of talk of there being no jeopardy in the round robin, but as a Galway supporter finishing second instead of first had a huge impact on our season.
Overall no major complaints with the format. We'll see how it plays out over the next few years.

Cork are probably a couple of years behind Derry in regards development. Some really positive signs for Cork though and they did offer a stern enough test today although I never really got the feeling that Cork really believed they could win. Next year is big for Cork it would be good to see you back at the top table.
