All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2023

Either by accident or design we're left with two great football competitions in the championship.

And GAAGO is a mighty job at this stage in both. Better analysis than RTE. If only we could take €159.99 of our TV licence and give it to them, let them do all the live games, preview and review shows and a terrestrial TV channel.

Will the 4 group winners have home advantage in the Quarter finals or is it a neutral venue ie Croke Park job?

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Obviously. Can't afford to be missing Con that day because I can see Rossies hammering the daylights out of Kildare who will give up once they go a few points behind. Sligo probably a bit more fight in them. Dublin will be needing 3/4 goals methinks."
Well done on that prediction, even went a few points behind for you and still won.
Also with Cork beating Mayo, Westmeath drawing with Tyrone are these signs that teams who struggle with the provincial dominance of Kerry and Dublin can compete in this new format against teams who have no traditional dominance on them.

Most likely Croke Park for the quarter-finals.

Would it be a approriate award for the group winners to have a home quarter final ?.
A Kerry v Galway or Tyrone quarter final in Killarney would be some occasion.

How does the quarters draw work ? Can teams who have already met meet again?

Why is this draw not on the Sunday game in full view of everyone…. because it's pre determined as I had the full draw posted to me on Sunday evening… the same thing happened the weekend before… Who are they trying to fool..?

At the quarter-final stage the four group winners will meet the preliminary quarter-final victors, subject to the avoidance of repeat provincial final pairings and where possible repeat pairings from Round One.

The quarter-finals, and semi-finals will be winner on the day with venues for those rounds to be determined by the CCCC.

I recorded the draw on the rte news channel morning Ireland programme this morning, it looked dodgy to me the way they done it,
they keep the camera on the presenter and not on the 2 bowls as they are drawing out the teams, why do we need to focus on the presenter?? surely the whole point of televising it is for transparency,
even the 2 men drawing the teams had that guilty suspicious look about them the little it showed of them.
very easy to rig this draw and in this country it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was rigged.

I attended the Kerry Louth game yesterday in Portlaoise and David Clifford was just fantastic. One of his points was just sublime. He was subbed with 20 mins to go and kids from both Kerry and Louth gathered in front of the subs to try get to Clifford. A few minutes later with the game still going on the Gardai escorted Clifford from the stand. To his credit David wanted to stay but was escorted to the dressing room to allay safety fears for the children. He did nt even get to see the end of the game. I have never witnessed this with a gaa player before. He is such a great lad and always has time for the kids with autographs and photos etc. He is normally last off the pitch. A really great man just like the last big superstar from Galways Joe.

Yeah, what kind of weirdo doesn't believe that everything the men in suits do is above board and totally legit eh?

On a positive note I just want to say I really enjoyed the hospitality and the experience In Portlaoise yesterday. I have nt been to Ó Moore Park in 20 years but it's a lovely stadium. Also I parked very close to pitch in an underground Supervalu carpark. I was directed in by a lively man in a yellow "high viz" jacket. I asked where will I pay to which he replied "ti's free enjoy the game". Makes a change from being ripped off. Thank you Laois.!

Not one of my greatest predictions I will have to admit. Hats off to Kildare, good win and I did not see it coming.

Great to have you all back since Kilkenny. Who knows, we may meet again!!

I presume all quarter finals are in Croke Park; or is it the same as the Tailteann where teams finishing top get home advantage.

Has any of Armaghs antics from the weekend been investigated by the CCCC or are they being left alone?

Mick, what player would you say was Clifford's best marker, kept his tally fairly low?
