Replying To TheFlaker:  "Lads we've been down this road before time and time again with Roscommon teams. There's always a massive over reaction when Mayo lose. Half the people in the country are waiting for them to lose so they can pile on. Now all of a sudden Roscommon are the bees knees. As they were under Davy Burke 3 years ago and as they were under McStay around 2017. They haven't won a championship game in Croke Park since 1980. Let's see where they when they hit Croker."
If that little rant made you happy then knock yourself out.

A bit of credit to Roscommon wouldn't go a miss, would have got long odds for our Seniors to win by 10 points last Sunday and last night our U20s were 7/2 to win.

Your Seniors are still well capable of bouncing back in the All-Ireland series and whiie your high fancied U20 team are now out I have no doubt you'll see plenty of that group going on to be established Seniors in the years ahead which is the real success of underage football.

@ Yew Tree, Mayo in crisis is nonsense.

Mayo football is in crisis make no mistake about it."
Your under 20s were beat by the kick of a ball after extra time, hardly a crisis.

Maybe relax a little bit.

It's not a rant. Mayo get absolutely slaughtered on here but tend to bounce back and beat Roscommon further down the line. Roscommon have class players and forwards if they are let play. No rant here but I've read all the same stuff before. I was on here when Mayo were beat by Ros under Davy Burke. It's like groundhog day.

Mayo are judged differently because they have made finals and never got over the line. Whereas other teams who have done nothing in Croke Park seem to get a free pass. That's my overall point.

My crisis comment was no reflected just at last night. I watch a lot of Mayo club football and there is a crisis in my honest and humble opinion. Nothing wrong with losing an underage title like last night, that's a very good Roscommon team.

However a running theme, Mayo beat them a few weeks ago yet are beaten when it really matters, like the minor team a few years ago in the all Ireland final. Mayo can not close out games when on top, from senior back down to minor and it's happening over and over again.

Out S&C once the best along with Dublin does not look up to scratch now. Mayo had a branch review report written up by Liam Horan 15 years ago and the recommendations were all ignored by the County Board. Enough said.

It was a bit of rant in fairness. You should focus on the matches just played than what might happen down the line.

Current Mayo Seniors shouldn't be judged differently as few of the current players has reached All-Ireland finals and the few that have are well past their best now.

The Flaker - In fairness it will be 30 years this summer since Mayo lost to Meath after a replay. Mayo have been in what….10 All Ireland finals in those 30 years (not including replays) so we've been in 1/3 of all football finals without winning a single one.

It's a remarkable and depressing record from our point of view so naturally Mayo teams are judged fairly or unfairly by those standards (competing at the business end and getting to finals).

Roscommon aren't judged the same as Mayo and why would they?

Mayo have won plenty of close games in recent years too, such as last year's U20 Connacht final, you're just choosing to ignore those.

Mayo beat Roscommon narrowly a few weeks ago but it's always difficult to beat the same team again in quick succession.
