You misread what I said, there were 8 changes made for the final league game so not a good maker of settled line up.

Hopefully not for the Wednesday before. The u20 Semi-Final is on the Wednesday 22nd before and the u20 Final on the Wednesday 29th after. Andy has already confirmed both will be in contention for the Roscommon game, so painting a different picture to this weekend. No shock leaving them out of an expected comfortable win, especially with eyes on the upcoming u20 Galway game where they can hopefully avoid a challenging semi-final. A lot of those changes was required after a trimming v Kerry. @TsuDhoNimh I doubt Andy Moran will be relying on teens to play. More than enough cover to fill in while those lads finish out their U20 campaign. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3906 - 13/04/2026 03:06:37 2666066 Link 0 |

The Monaghan and Armagh games were when Mayo had their strongest teams out. Hession, Loftus and Durcan missed the last two league games due to injury. Using that Roscommon game as a reference point is silly with all the changes made. If U20s are good enough to play senior football then they should do so IMO. The whole purpose of U20 is developing lads for the senior side. MayoDan (Mayo) - Posts: 532 - 13/04/2026 12:33:25 2666131 Link 1 |

Plenty of changes was always going to made after the manner of the defeat to Kerry, a natural reaction of any manager and far from a silly reference. Durcan is now back which I already pointed out with the 4 changes. Loftus,Hession didn't feature at the weekend so are highly unlikely to be starting the next day. I'd say about 4 spots are open for starting place as Rob Hennelly,Jack Coyne, Rory Brickenden; Sam Callinan,Paddy Durcan; Bob Tuohy,David McBrien; Jack Carney,Ryan O'Donoghue,Cian McHale, Aidan O'Shea should start the Connnacht semi-final Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3906 - 13/04/2026 14:20:29 2666168 Link 0 |

Also plenty of changes because Roscommon and Mayo knew they were going to be playing each other in a much more important game a few weeks later. It was just shadow boxing but you seem to think otherwise!

Assuming Galway get over Leitrim, they will be in the provincial winners/runners up pot for the qualifier draw. So the loser of Mayo V Roscommon will be in the other pot. Does this mean that Mayo could, regardless of how we fair out in the Semi end up meeting Roscommon in 3 of our last 4 games? martinjoe (Mayo) - Posts: 581 - 13/04/2026 16:15:12 2666202 Link 0 |

Who's still going on about the league? Jez I've nearly forgotten who won it. Some posters place too much emphasis on what is now basically a warm up competition. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 12022 - 13/04/2026 17:41:40 2666227 Link 0 |

Yup. It'd be an All Ireland Semi-Final before a Provincial pairing that isn't a Final would be taken into account again for avoidance of repeats. TsuDhoNimh (Mayo) - Posts: 13 - 13/04/2026 17:50:34 2666231 Link 0 |
