Game now heading for a sell out going by media reports. Looks like the Mayo support is back (could be our final game) on the back of the victory in Omagh. Going to be a tough game, all pundits i have heard are going for Donegal and the bookies, and cant see much arguments to go against them. Mayo support going into this with hope, hope for a performance they will need to up the Tyrone performance by alot to get anything on Sunday. Then there is a bit of hope that Donegal will start thinking of games that are ahead if Tyrone are winning well against Cavan, but to be honest I hope that doesn't happen. Mayo fans have no excuse not to go, it's practically a home game for most of them, weather looks good for Sunday, going to be a great atmosphere no doubt. Draw suits both teams, that's my prediction now, if we are level round the 65 min mark and Tyrone are winning well I can see us playing out the draw. This is not the All Ireland Champions or the Dublin teams of past they are playing. Donegal are by no means the finished article and have , in the past 2 seasons, been caught by both Tyrone and Cork in the group stages. Agree if it came down to that, Who would Donegal see as a bigger threat down the line? Draw with Mayo and keep them in I don't think at this stage you can afford to play for a draw. A winning mentality gives great momentum and confidence. I still think Mayo need to up their game massively. Tyrone were off the last day in the same way Mayo were off when Cavan visited. If mayo play Galway tomorrow it feels almost 50/50 but mayo seem large underdogs Similarly whenever rossies are playing a Kerry I except them to get a hiding but if playing Galway or Mayo I'd expect to be tight 1-7 I think mayo are as good as anyone and can tie up likes of gallen Thompson. 100% Mayo need to up there performance from the Tyrone game, the performance was good and its a great starting point especially after the Cavan performance. Tyrone did seem flat or heavy legged, and Mayo got the goals at very good times, you wont Morgan do that again with a high ball. Tyrone did what Mayo would do, get a big result and then go out the next day and disappoint, lack consistency. Mayo need to improve again on the Tyrone game and also get some luck and then they have a chance of beating Donegal. They cant be running into the crowded defence Donegal have, they want the turnover and then they all burst up the field, Mayo will have to try and work space or have there shooting boots from long range and makesure ball goes dead at least and then try and push up on Donegals kickouts. An in form Boland would be useful here, could be a Rochford surprise late addition, Rochford will usually do something different. Wasn't there 27 or 28k at the Connacht final this year? Biggest attendance in many years. It's not possible to have huge attendances at every match now with the new format and more compact season. Previously you'd be straight into a quarter final after winning a provincial title. Had that match today marked down as a draw and had money on it. Couldn't have got much closer to a draw basically seconds away, Worst part for Mayo is that Donegal didn't need a winner as draw for them still put them 2nd in the table. In hindsight tough it was Cavan at home that cost Mayo the most. New management probably in place for 2026, return of James Horan again or will Andy Moran leave Monaghan to take up the post?
