If your on the team for the FBD final, you wont be starting the league first round, unless you tear it up

There will be a handful that play both.

A very much experimental team named for the FBD league final which is understandable considering the first round of the league is 7 days away against the same opponents. The panel is due to be cut this coming week so may be a last chance for lads to stake their claim.

How did the D teams get on? Someone said they played behind locked doors in ballinrobe. Honestly who gives a fiddlers. FBD is a developmental league, nothing more nothing less. It's about bringing new lads through and giving them experience.

Both counties will have many changes next weekend for the first round of the league.

Hilarious. Don't think either of us will care about the result this time next week.

Good win on the road against the neighbours. In reality we should not have been in that position when 11 points up. Mayo (and this is going on for years) need to learn to keep the foot on the throats of opponents when playing with a big lead.

Thought we mixed the good with the bad. Hennelly excellent. Our full back line was shambolic. Midfield did well for most of the game bar that 10min spell when Galway railroaded us. Darragh Beirne from Claremorris showed very well with 1-1. Ryan O D is still key to everything though.

Tommy Conroy looks a pale shadow of what he can be.
Bob Tuohy very good midfield. Cian McHale comes on and gets a goal. Still very open at the back, Galway had 4-5 goal chances (Fionn McDonagh very impressive for them).

You can see the Mayo attack is more varied, used width and looks to have a man free at all times. It's promising but way too early to be getting excited or down about aspects of the game. Very entertaining game. Dublin at home next Sunday.

TBF come summer Mchugh will be in defence and so will McBrien. Makes a massive difference.

Strange to be in Salthill without a gale, let alone in January. Think Galway got about 1-4 without us getting a hand on the ball, definitely a worry. Hopefully Tommy will get some more game time, seems to be what he needs. Beirne took his scores well, think he would have gotten another goal if Flynn had passed rather than taking on the shot himself right before they both came off.

Decent showing yesterday.
Positive that Mayo scored 3-18, the goals were well created, and 5 two pointers even tho only one from play but still its an improvement.
It was a good score to put up against a Galway back 6 that would be nearly full strength.

Beirne played well and needs games. Conroy def needs as much game time as he can get, and improve the skills, soloing seems to slow him down and had a chance or two for a score but wasnt quick enough with the kick and just seems to lack confidence.

The Mayo defence wasnt great but I would think for Mayos best back 6, only 2 would survive from yday and Durcan came on he would be another starter.

It's metal this game is not on tv or any streaming service. You can watch a junior game on club er tv from Kerry but not a Mayo v Dublin NFl game. Not sure why TG4 or GAA+ opted not to show this game.
