That's overly pessimistic, age profile of team allows for some optimism in next 1-2 years anyway ; GB did a good Job but how often do we see new managers getting great results in their first year , sometimes a new voice is needed , all depends on who comes in

Thanks to GB for his efforts over the past four years. He done a good job and blooded alot of players and was honest as can be. He could have taken an ulster title this year, it was there for him and he'll think about it alot in the coming weeks. I'd say after 60 mins against westmeath he was really thinking we can have a cut at sam. The beggan injury was devastating and what happened after. Hell regret dropping mulligan and maybe that cost him. There an obvious element of player power here somewhere in his statement. Players are entitled to their voice but we had to many no shows in croke park in June, it's on the players now next year to step up equally. They've had a few chances to go get him but never have. I don't know if he'd be interested but they should be bending over backwards to get him in. Left Tyrone and Louth in great shape and would really help the club setup in Monaghan if he was involved.

Can't wait for the county boards version of why GB has stepped down, Willy they explain what the goalposts being moved actually meant , something smells off here, dear god we don't go down the road of a twice failed manager at county level today the least . Big boots to fill , Thanks Gabriel you were excellent in every way with Monaghan . The county board is the controlling hand for our county teams . I hope Money isn't the issue here . If funds were needed it would have been got . I dread to think what turning back the clock to failed times will do for the county . Bad enough towns being destroyed, never mind the whole county … again

Whats going on with Clubber not showing any scotstown games. 200 quid they show every team except scotstown. The 5 village union are meant to be ulster champions. The clubs need to be asking questions of the board its there county team. Between the Cloghan development and getting rid of Gabriel where will it end. See on social media all hurling managers have recently left what has happened in the last month down there?

Best wishes to GB, was moving things in the right direction. The clubs, and by extension of that, their membership are entitled to clarity around GB stepping down, and all aspects of it, even if GB is being cryptical about it membership are entitled to clarity. The Co Board are answerable to the members, end of Regarding any potential successor, membership are entitled to clarity there also, the mood of the supporters needs to be taken into account, times are tough for some people, coughing up much needed funds to follow your team deserves respect. No point wealth on the sideline and the stands half empty. The two games we lost in the AI series we were outnumbered heavily in the stands, at home to Mayo and especially in CP against Louth, their supporters played a part getting them over the line.
