Replying To veterngaa:  "Well Scotstowns management team consists of Diarmuid Scullion( all Ireland minor winning coach and former Westmeath coach and now Cavan coach ), Donal Morgan ( former Co player and many co medals), Fergus Caulfield (nothing to be said ) and Kevin O'Brien ( former corofin manager)

You reckon they wouldn't get them going ?"
Not sure what you mean by "Get them going"?Winning titles? Point was, regardless of who takes over if there aren't enough players of required standard and mentality at their disposal it doesn't matter who is managing/coaching. Coaches and managers know that too. Only time a coach from a higher level moves to a Junior team is when they are taking a team that is a near certainty to win something ie relegated or have come very close the previous year.

Excellent entertainment in the Intermediate final this evening. Killanny were in truth outclassed all game, but through sheer doggedness they were still in the mix coming down the stretch. They really needed a second half goal to rattle Carrickmacross, but the Emmets defence stood up when needed.
Carrick themselves missed a glut of chances midway through the second half which should have killed the game. It took a breakaway goal to do just that. Maguire, Lynch and young Carolan were very good for Carrick, so too McMenamin. OHanlon had a good enough game without being outstanding, he did nail a crucial momentum- swinging score late on. On the Killanny side, Eddie Walsh hit a few scores without cutting loose, while Dean Connolly was much quieter than expected. Ronan Grimes not starting was a big blow for Killanny. Their big physical players will be disappointed to have come off second best around the middle.
The scenes near the end were poor form, 4 or 5 red cards shown, proper order given the incidents. It ended amicably all the same.

And who ever comes from Tyrone will hammer them"
A handy victory for the Emmett's as expected. Predicting an Ulster Club championship now to go along with it.

Killanny not starting Crawley too was strange I thought. Their first half was abysmal with no physicality which is so strange for Killanny. Carrick impressive but would make you think if Killanny had of stuck into them first half .. hard to know how they will fare out in senior

Fair play to Carrick for quieting the naysayers this year. Far and above the best team in Intermediate. Seem to have a lot of hunger this year and a good set-up driving them forward. Some quality young players in that squad who are stepping up and becoming leaders. Killanny couldn't cope with their physicality.

The difference between the 2 sides was the louth lad.

By far the best player on the field and not even close in my opinion.

Will be the main difference in Clones today, transferred players in doing the business.

Very surprised not more uproar on this forum about lads transferring into a big town team from.an outside county or does most of that just be aimed at a club near that town on this forum.

Aaron Lynch was the player of the match. A good Carrick man.

Take your grievances with Scotstown aside.

My call on Carrick to do the double and Blayney to go up is still on course. Blayney showed a lot of character to win that game. Unlucky to not be out of sight before the mini collapse in last quarter. The harps keeper was phenomenal

All the talk now will be about the transfers unfortunately. Congrats to Scotstown. In third gear the whole game and timing their run nicely to lift the Ulster Cup

Thrilling county final today. Inniskeen will feel it was there for them but they couldn't get the job done. Scotstown upped the gears in extra time combined with experience saw them home.

Strength in depth being able to bring on likes of conor Mccarthy ryan o toole won it for scotstown. Kieran Hughes usual quarter back role when the game was there to be won. Inniskeen will feel missed boat in normal time. Great final. The Jones boys Andrew woods Hannratty lost nothing in defeat. Great advert for monaghan football.

Weird game today, Blaney should have been out of site at half time, Harps took on mc manus and power and completely took over for 20 mins and threw it away with their tactics. Harps too young for senior so another year in intermediate will do them no harm but that squad has a very hight ceiling. If Blaney go up I fear for them

Missed injury time at the end of registration, was there a bit of controversy?

The more things change the more the same the same……
People can talk all they want but in truth Stown probably 4-6 points the better team

. IKeen took their 2points Stown didnt.

The scary thing is a 18yr old gets a MOTM when he's surrounded by Co Seniors, what does that mean for d rest of us??

Very impressed with the legs & conditioning of what is supposed to be a aging team.

As Mark Twain once said "Rumours of his death were greatly exaggerated"... many men here had Scotstowns wake a few weeks ago.

Fair play to Inniskeen. gave it everything yesterday. The 14 Scotstown men that started were made to work for every ball. It's a shame that young Sherlock missed out on starting the game for the Currin Man but such is life.

Ultimately, it came down to the sheer numbers Scotstown have yet again. Look at the subs they're bringing on compared to Inniskeen. Naturally, a little village just don't have the same quantity of quality players at their disposal that 4 parishes combined do. Their numbers 16-30 might win an Intermediate championship.

Senior club scene has officially died a death. If ever a year highlighted how unequal the playing field is, it's this year. Winning a county title without their two best outfield players is some laugh.
