Best of luck to St Marys in the Hogan cup final in Croke Park. Theyve brought a great buzz to the town and the county doing there school, clubs and County proud . Great bunch of lads and coaches . Lets hope they can finish the job and bring the Hogan cup back home to Mullingar A_Chairde (Westmeath) - Posts: 377 - 17/03/2026 10:23:05 2661565 Link 0 |

Of course our game is the one of primary importance, but if Sam Maguire is what we are aiming at-then the Louth, Kildare game IS significant as relegation for Kildare makes reaching Sam Maguire more difficult. But yes, that would be academic if we lost to Wexford. I think one has to keep an eye on those other results though, to get the full picture. Not so sure what was too strange about the comment.

Wouldn't say there will be anyone down here checking that result unless we win Sunday.

Winning on Sunday will be a big ask. Wexford under the new rules have had a new lease of life . Wexford footballers don't have great support so I would hope that a good Westmeath support travels down . Just on a footnote congrats to tyrrellspass man dean Mc Nicholas and the colaiste mhuire boys on a historic victory . What an advertisement for gaelic football

Massive win for CBS. First thing I have to mention is the support they completely outnumbered the Kerry fans, easily 6 to 1, and it made a serious difference. Thank God we got the start we did, because in the second half we went about 17-18 minutes without a score, which nearly cost us. I couldn't understand why we didn't make a few changes around the 40-45 minute mark - the lads were clearly tiring and we had options on the bench to inject a bit of energy. Thankfully it didn't come back to bite us. From a CBS point of view, I thought Keating, Moloney and Higgins were outstanding. Higgins might not have got on the scoresheet, but his work rate and link-up play were class such an intelligent footballer. For Tralee, their number 8 and 14 were excellent serious footballers they've big futures ahead of them. Fighting-Cocks69 (Westmeath) - Posts: 151 - 18/03/2026 09:28:09 2661646 Link 0 |
