Replying To Meridian:  "As i said previously, ultimately its up to the Parents and the Child as to where they play. There are no parish rules so what you deem to be "recruiting" has been going on for the last 20-30 years and every Club does it to some degree. Some Clubs either have better facilities or are more successful (or both) than others and that does attract players. Its only natural. Parents want the best for their kids in everything they do. All Clubs can do is present themselves as an option, after that its up to the Parents and Child."
The problem is that's it's detrimental to the long term survival of so called less successful clubs. Which leads to less kids playing into their late teens because they're not getting game time. Which affects having a bigger and better pool of players to go on for county.
My original remark goes back to lilliput u14s getting sneered by another poster over who did or didn't play in a div 1 final and div 6 final because the conceded a semi final. The one year they have numbers they get sneered for no reason. Let them play and enjoy it. That's 12/15 young lads on that div 6 team who'll play on next year and plenty can make the step up if needed. Game time that's what it's about.

None has happened as liiliputt are still winning and competing yet when losses mount up where will mammy and daddy want the kid to go it's starts with the underage. Sure I can vouch for one incident where a person is actively recruiting for their home team while working in the parish beside it.
Politely eff off was the response they got."
So no one has joined Shandonagh from a rural club is the answer. Therefore your earlier post is groundless.

Where did I say that shandonagh took a player, all I said that the bigger clubs can Hoover up young players around. Read some of my earlier posts. Stop getting so defensive and read what I wrote. So whatever you're trying to twist outta of my posts fair play to you. Go back and read them again this time really read them.

Looks like Mc kinley in with u20s..not a bad choice..did good work with St malachys and worked well with dual players it would seem. Milltown to freshen things up this year. Alot not happy with defensive football been played and poor show in final replay versus Garrycastle.Word on the street is Few senior players in the downs not happy with recent decision on managment. Only a selection of players and committie behind decision apparently. Will St josephs stick with current management give go the full distance 2025? Kinnegad will shake things up 2025 managment wise anyway

Managers from the inside still get paid in most clubs at senior level but not as much as an outside manager.

Kenny Mc Kinley feels like an astute appointment as successor to his old colleague Damien Gavin. Why would Milltown look to freshen things up after the progress they made this year, making there first ever Intermediate final. I find it hard to believe The Downs would remove John Murray as manager given all he has done for the club, a kick of a ball away from winning a championship. John is a Downs legend. Same in Kinnegad , theyre as fickle as you would find of any club in the county.

The Downs situation is inexplicable, a club that prides itself on tradition and loyalty, one of their own, a former player who coached teams at underage and their ladies team gets their senior team from section B to a whisker from winning the championship and apparently he's basically sacked. Player power at its worst, some of the players behind it didn't light up the championship in many matches, heaps huge pressure on the team next year, new manager will realise he has one year in the job. Disappointing if it's true

Kenny McKinley seems to be getting the U20 job with Gary Connaughton and Mick Dillon among the backroom team. Not a particularly strong group at U17 but a lot of that panel have developed well in the meantime and should be a competitive team. Many of last years team still eligible. Tubberclair and Mullingar the dominant teams at underage the past number of years so guessing they'll have large representation on the panel.

Well done to Lomans today. Great win.

Ardee next week will be tough. Any idea where the game will be played ? Cusack or Lakepoint park again?

Looks like Lakepoint Park. Cusack Park want to give Castletown the best chance possible and fair enough

I believe it was only in Lakepoint due to ctg playing in the park today, but after that performance lomans might like to play in Lakepoint again, must be a nice occasion to play Leinster championship on your own patch

A double next Sunday leading to 2 Westmeath teams in Croke Park would be very special

Well done St.Lomans on another great performance and win yesterday in Lakepoint-they are some team when attacking but honestly Castletown were very poor-in and out of possession but you can only beat whats in front of you and Lomans destroyed them.

Very poor is right. Really limited side, expected a much tougher test. St Mary's Ardee will be very difficult a good few Louth players involved and an extra week's rest for them.
