It is what it is,...

Ok serious question for you - would this Dublin team if they were in Division 2 currently, get Promoted from Division 2..?
In a word .... NO.
And that is the level we are currently at unfortunately, whether people care to admit it or not.

For me the big issue is that with the condensed season, it will be a miracle if we are competitive come Leinster and All Ireland Championship time.

We are slow, predictable, no attacking speed as of yet, no regular 2 pointers, a low shot to score ratio, a low kick out success rate and a very weak bench,

I personally think 2026 will be a WIP... But the newbies will learn a lot from this season. They have to.
Hopefully Ger and his team can get us competitive very soon. Until then, it is a new learning curve for us.
We have to be patient with him and the squad.

Well a very wet and windy night in Croker yesterday evening in front of just over 25,000 fans.
The Hill had its usual cohort of Dublin diehards in atrocious conditions.

The footballers went as I predicted - miles off it. So I will say more on that.

The Hurlers with 13 men battled well and showed great resilience at the end to dig out a 75th min equaliser from the great Chris Crummey. 4-19 to 3-22 FT.
Great to see us score some goals but 19pts wont win too many games of Hurling imo.
We definitely need to improve on that...

Donal Burke top scored with 1-09 for the Dubs.
We had 10 lads on the scoresheet and nice to see Hedger get a couple of goals and one a one handed hit.

Plenty of passion after the final whistle for 2 teams who will meet again in the Championship in May...

No Fionn, this team would struggle in division 2 but what I cannot figure out is why.We have the oplayers but they seem to be playing with feae. Are they adraid of Brennan? I know for a fact most of the players loved Dessie. I know its too early to judge Ger but deffo some top players like Howard and Bugler seem to have lost form under Ger.Maybe he is not the real deal we thought he was.He did well with Louth but Mickey Harte had the hard work done.Time will tell.

I honestly think there are far too many miles on the clock for our stalwarts.

And the newbies are nervous of making mistakes in case they dont get a 2nd chance.

I watched the Donegal v Armagh game this afternoon, and Donegal's 2points were a big factor in their win, oh and their goalie also of course... Armagh played well.

I cant see us getting anything out of our last 3 games tbh, and really at this stage Ger should continue to use the league as preparation for the Leinster challenge.
