Replying To Claretandblue:  "Clearly you have no great knowledge of Clonkill's prowess in recruiting players. Their own geographic size is considerable but ask any Turin supporter about their relationship with Clonkill over the past 25 years or more."
Clonkill don't have some sort of 'recruitment' team like some suggest. Players have joined Clonkill from outside the parish in recent history but that's because they wanted to join a successful club when Clonkill were doing well. They have always been backboned by about 4 local families (Price, Murtagh, Loughlin, Dowdall)

Clonkill's reach extends well beyond its "parish", into Mullingar and through the downs.

Call it poaching or call it players being attracted to a successful team. There's a bit of column A, column B here. You could have said the same about St Lomans.

Turin put a huge amount of work into reviving their underage in recent years. Thankfully, it has injected a new mentality and belief into the club. Otherwise, they were under serious pressure to survive. There's no question that the "proximity" of Clonkill hindered them.

However, they've made great strides, and it's filtering through to their adult team now. They've several fine young hurlers.
