Whats peoples thoughts for the weekend?? I think home advantage will be crucial as we've played well in aughrim this year. Also theres no way they can be as bad again as they were against Laois plus with rumours of a few injured bodies back I feel it might get us over the line.

I think we won't win on Sunday and the season is over. Hit and miss this year and could see the team losing.

I think that most supporters have become innured to the inconsistency of our team this season, consequently expectations are not great. I really hope they can do i, but bigger tests lie in wait.

Who knows with this team, they could win it easily or loose it by a big margin, best of luck to the team anyway lets hope the good Wicklow turns up!

Well done to the wicklow seniors. A lot of their problem is they are too slow to get the ball forward at pace. They play it over and back allowing the opposition to get back and setup. A first time ball into our full forward line would be better. Galway played lovely first kick football tonight

Totally agree. I have been banging on about that since last year- and I'm no expert. Looking at the many games on telly lately and fortune does favour the brave. Fast ball in, whether by kick pass or line breakers create all kinds of possibilities. Unfortunately, this particular team seems to be coached too long in the keep ball or lateral approach. Dean is the only one we have who is prepared to break the line.

A couple of observations from the game against Limerick - I thought Eoin Murtagh and Malcahy Stone returning stabilised the team's defence plus they contributed to the score board. And there was a good spread of scorers. Dean Healy surging through the Limerick defence was great to watch - he is a true leader and is a great player. Wicklow players need to take on teams more by either getting the ball into the forwards quicker or run at defences. Finally, the team definitely seem to play at a much higher level when they play in Aughrim. The downside is that twice in the game, the team seem to be in control of the game but faded out of the game and allowed Limerick to reduce their deficit.

I think a home draw game in the next round is a bonus considering how the team are performing at home. Tipperary will be no pushovers and Wicklow shouldn't underestimate them. Complacency is this team's biggest enemy.

I think, in fairness, the shortcomings of this team have pretty well catalogued on here by multiple posters. Apart from Dean, we don't have players prepared to break the line or carry the ball into contact. That will have to be sorted. There is no way to sugarcoat it. Even the columnists and reporters are starting to note it, and our continual reverting to lateral play across the field. If everyone and his uncle can see it, why can our coaches not also and try to correct it.

Were people watching the same game as me at the weekend??? Yes Dean carries the ball and breaks the line but he is not the only one Podge does it just as well and Oisin McGraynor had a fine game at the weekend running at Limerick. And as for people giving out about lateral play, do yous watch matches on the tv?? It is how every other team in the country plays as well unfortunately you can't attack directly and at a super fast pace for every attack thats just how it is with the new rules.

The point I am making is there needs to be more players taking on opposition defences more frequently especially if we want to win the Tailteann Cup. I used Dean Healy as an example because he does it more frequently. I agree Podge has been contributing goals from play this season. Long may he continue to do so. In terms of the lateral passing; I think some teams use the lateral passing as a way to hold possession if they need a breather or if they fail to move the ball quick enough which allows the opposing defence to get back in position. Personally I hate the passing back and forth across the pitch. At least there is less of it now than in previous years.
