Replying To ORIELMAN85:  "Like most Ulstermen I will be supporting Donegal on Sunday. But if any poster comes on here and claims that he is going to Croke Park on Sunday totally sure that Donegal are going to win,I will give you a man who doesn't know much about football. Anyone who is honest will travel with a churning stonach. Like all Donegal people I hope they do it but it will come down to "Paudi O'Shea's grain of rice" on the day. Donegal can win it, but so can Kerry. Good luck to players and managemrment and hopefully all you Donegal supporters will be in Donegal on Monday night welcoming home Champions. Up Donegal."
Aye, I think most of Ulster will be shouting for Donegal, that has always been the way, like we would support any Ulster team that reaches the All Ireland, except maybe Tyrone.

Most Donegal fans I spoke to at work are nervous and are hoping Donegal can compete with Kerry, as this is a step up in quality of opposition. Its different to 2014, when Donegal beat the invincible Dublin team and were expected to be a match for Kerry in the final, cos Kerry weren't seen to be as good as Dublin at that time and Donegal had been on the road for 4 years and already won an All Ireland. Only 3 Donegal players have experienced an All Ireland final before, only 2 have won one, and they are facing a Kerry team who have recently been in 3 or 4 finals.

Replying To hupskip:  "Hi everyone,

A Kerryman here with a query. I have a Donegal jersey that I have had since 2004. Its from the 2000-2001 season and has Finn Valley Oil as the sponsor. It also has the number 9 on the back. As far as I know Abbey Hotel were the sponsors during this time so I am just curious to know where they jersey might have originated from? Somebody here might have more information.

Thanks in advance."
Hi, the jersey is most likely from 2002 all ireland vocational schools final. Donegal beat kerry in Breffni Park. Team had brilliant players from four masters, gaoth dobhair and killybegs. Paul McGarvey from Dungloe was no.9. John Joe o'shea from kenmare, kerry was the manager of the donegal team. He won it again with donegal in 2011.

I think my biggest worry is lack of experience, Kerry have been in 3 of the last 4 finals, they have that advantage in experience which is a big factor on days like this.
Tyrone started well against Kerry, they were even doing well on the Kerry kickout but once Kerry and Clifford got into gear they smelt blood.
The more I think about this game the less confident I am.

I think I'm gonna go off grid for the remainder of the weekend as the nerves are setting in quite a bit now. Coming on here and reading absolute scutter from trolls from other parts of the country isn't what's needed. Thank you to everyone else who has wished us well from Derry, monaghan etc, you are true gaels. Whatever happens on Sunday happens. Win or lose I will be proud of the efforts put in by every single member of our panel and backroom all season and grateful for the great days they gave us. I wouldn't swap all Dublin and Kerrys titles put together for the love of living in this beautiful part of the world. And if we win our third, it would mean the absolute world. See you all on the other side.

The only reason any of us would go to near that kip is to go to Croke Park or the airport in all fairness. It ain't a fair city no more.

Last Post before game. Hopefully my next post will be admitting that i got it wrong badly about our defence and our chances of winning sam anytime soon. Rorysboys might not be the flavour of many but by God I don't mind eating humble pie. Best of luck to jim and team and safe journey to everyone travelling. . Growing up the opportunity to play kerry was only a dream but now to play them in an all Ireland final is surreal. Adh mhor.

Safe travels to all making the game

Absolutely thrilled to have landed tickets for my son and his 2 sons - proud day coming.

Excitement is bubbling nicely as as usual not a peak from the camp - it's wonderful.

Can't see Jimmy loosing back to back finals v Kerry - I have a strong feeling we will put it tight.

Very best of luck to the glenties/fintown messiah and the rest of the parish in the backroom team along with the extended panel of players and officials - you've got this and we are all fully united behind you.

Get in early lads and make as much noise as possible for our lads.

Donegal Abu..

I doubt you'd know your football history but Kerry produce players.

As for productions lines that was it 5 odd all Ireland minor wins after Brolly came out with that.

If it wasnt for the AFL you can rest assured there'd be no 6 in a row.

1.65 million tourists visited one site( Guinness hop store) in Dublin city last year, 330,000 visitors in total for all of Donegal?

This thread is tough going at times trying to wade through the trolls to get to the genuine posters. Tickets do seem to be filtering back to the county but what a fiasco the allocation is. Surely the two competing counties should be looked after first.

On the game itself it is really hard to call. There really isn't a lot to go on as our last championship meeting was 2019. The new rules put serious pressure on the goalies so could come down to who has the best day on kickouts.

This is probably the first game this year where everyone is fit and available. Both teams are capable of running up big scores but I think this game might be a bit more cautious as the forwards on the pitch are top notch.

Best of luck to everyone travelling. Hopefully my next post will be one of celebration.

As a neutral I think it's nothing short of facinating to see how Donegal are in an All Ireland final just 2 yrs after been in a very undesirable place not to mention been in a semi final just 12 months after that a game yee should have won!! McGuinness didnt make new footballers so its clear things were always strong up there but just needed leadership. I think the new rules have (and rightly so) allowed football and talented footballers to flourish and that's one of the reasons Donegal are in the final.
This final for me is way more exciting than the "Kerry v Dublin" finals where the media and pundits constantly hark back to the 70's and the past, and the games themselves constantly disappointed in terms of a spectacle. Forget the 70's...Sunday will see 2 of the greatest to have ever played the game. Its just facinating to see what Michael Murphy is doing and the role he leads. I wish yee the very best and if Donegal win it will be beacuse of spread of scorers.

If we had the transport infrastructure of the Capital we might get a few more.

How many did Sligo get?

Ifs, buts and roundabouts, if Hennelly wasn't asked to retake the 45 in 2021 it could have been 8 in a row.
But it is what it is Dubs won 6 on the bounce against whatever the opposition put up against them and in fairness through those years Kerry were not really close to Mayo never mind close to the Dubs.
