They got the kickouts right connollys thought number 8 was outstanding for them on Kevin diffley

Fair play to Connollys and Mostrim. Both showed up. Will be a good final, and I expect Connollys will finally break their run of bad luck in finals and come good on the day. A big achievement for them to get back to Senior if they make it. I remember them being relegated to Junior a decade or more ago, but they didn't make the drop in the end. Mostrim will be no pushover and have gone under the radar a bit with nobody expecting much from them this year. That won't phase them or their manager.

Mullinalaghta proving to be the terminator of Longford football yet again. Gotta hand it to them.

Incredible to see Fr. Manning Gaels relegated to Junior. Can't recall seeing a club going from senior to intermediate to junior in consecutive years before. They will bounce back, but still.

Predication for the weekend is Abbeylara to beat Killoe by a goal, and Clonguish to beat Dromard by 6.

I watched Ballymahon and Connollys. Connollys had it so easy and they were streets and streets ahead, the 2 Reynolds had the freedom of Pearse Park, particularly Daniel. Very surprised Ballymahon reached a semi final going off their display yesterday.

Kenagh were relegated two years in a row intermediate last year and they were senior in 2024.
Killoe to win by 2 points them and Abbeylara both have injuries but Killoe have a much deeper squad, Abbeylara really under pressure having to call Colm P out of retirement the last day.
Dromard have the two most inform forwards in the county right now in Joe Hagan and Aaron Farrell and the x factor from Matt Duffy and I see them doing it for Dromard, Dromard to win by two after extra time.
Big win for Connollys, Tommy Donohoe is a shrewd man but Niall Sheridan has beat Connollys in a final before.
Connollys need to find a way to get other scorers than dan and dessie reynolds. Mostrim have some very tidy forwards who will also need watching.

Clonguish will wipe the floor with Dromard. Yes they have a good forward line but are weak at the back. Colmcille could easily have scored at least 4 fours against them the last day if they had their shooting boots on.
Added to that Clonguish scored 4 goals in the first half against them in the semi last year.
Like Clonguish Dromard have a young team but Clonguish have the experience.
The other semi is a toss up. Abbey may come out on top here possibly after extra time

Mullinaghta showed all their experience in getting the win against Carrick with their ruthless scoring efficiency, scoring 2 points right at end of game just when it looked like Carrick were going to get over the line. Cian Mackey was immense for Mullinaghta and everything seemed to go through him. Carrick will really regret all the missed chances with 9 wides in the first half and another couple in the second half, story of their championship really, failing to get over the line and get wins when they had the chances.
Leaves intermediate very intriguing next year with themselves and Rathcline.

Should have an exciting intermediate final in place with Connollys and Mostrim. Ballymahon were as expected a no show and only got to a semi final by virute of a much easier and weaker group. I was expecting Grattens to be better but it looks like Mostrim are hitting form at the right time.

Connollys will be dependent on massive performances from the 2 Reynolds to get over the line, and in fairness they have been both performing very well. But Mostrim will be well set up and will make nothing easy, they have a good few players still who have played lots of senior championship and look overall a better solid and balanced team not as dependent on individuals. An intriguing final in store.

Mostrim will win Intermediate by about 6....Connollys will cave again.

Are ya saying that Clonguish will cave again. Remember that it is not Colmcille they are playing. Clonguish are outright favourites and I feel that it could be a procession for them.

Whats going on with intermediate relegation? Master fixtures on the county site says "As Relegation has been determined following Round 2 fixtures, the games in Round 3 will not now be played". But that second place spot isn't settled yet. Cashel were on 3 points while Killoe were on 1. They drew with each other in the last round so the results of their respective last round games would decide who stays up and who goes down. Anyone know what happened there?

Would it be a caving if dromard win a tight game. Dromard have loads of great players, more senior county players than Clonguish. Clonguish are a good team but they aren't so far ahead that they must win every game they go out in.
Championships are really hard to win anybody who wins it from here will have deserved it. Killoe are coming just at the right time and I fancy them to once again get the silverware.

Either 2 things happened here. Most likely Killashee and Fr.Manning Gaels conceded their games as they had nothing left to play for. Or Killoe accepted relegation and conceded their game. I doubt the second option happened but you never know.

Heard both teams conceded. Unfair on Killoe if true but it comes as no surprise. Why did they not have two relegation semi finals and avoid the potential for this scenario. Same thing happened in Division 2

On the weekend I think Abbeylara's injury list will catch up with them and Killoe will power past them in the final quarter.
Dromard are the form team with the right blend of youth and experience. I cannot see them being stopped either this weekend or in the final.

The county board should not allow Killashee to concede a championship game that has bearing on the relegation spot.
If true, that is a disgrace by Killashee.
They should be thrown out of the championship and relegated.

Structure with 10 teams at senior should work an awful lot better next year, I actually think it should be 8 but 10 is a lot better than 12

I heard it's because of some bizarre rule where because Cashel scored more goals in the head to head fixture between them and Killoe, that Killoe now cannot overtake Cashel in the table.

If Killashee and the Gaels conceded, those would be the Round 3 results and there would be no need for any comment in the Master Fixtures document on the website. But there is a comment and it says "As Relegation has been determined following Round 2 fixtures, the games in Round 3 will not now be played", which directly suggests that the outcome was determined at the end of Round 2, not via conceded games in Round 3.

I just can't figure out which criteria from Round 2 would conclude that no Round 3 was needed. Bizarre.
