I assume you are talking about me with that post. Can you name the vested interests you are talking about and what they are being pandered with? boxtyburgerbuns (Leitrim) - Posts: 434 - 06/07/2025 12:26:52 2623886 Link 0 |
Oh to be honest I wouldn't bother please. It's the same thing as using "lack of structures" to blame everything that's wrong in the county. Yet when I asked what these "structures" were a number of weeks back I was told if I was involved etc etc I'd know etc etc. I am heavily involved but there is no point talking to some peoples here as they are very very frustrating. Grand to be typing behind a keyboard yes and blaming "lack of structures". Get off the keyboard please and do what I do and go out and do some coaching no. But before you do can some of you who got angry with me before explain what the "structures" are. What "structures" are we lacking?!? Concrete examples, not jargon and mod talk that you hear on the tv. bláthach (Leitrim) - Posts: 175 - 07/07/2025 09:11:06 2624053 Link 0 |
Not bad going you picked the correct winners in all but one game. Leitrim gaels had a good win at the weekend. Does anyone see them as championship contenders? southleitrim_mafia (Leitrim) - Posts: 151 - 07/07/2025 12:42:17 2624105 Link 0 |
Dark horses for me add in they three Jones brothers and they've got plenty going for them

Leitrim U16's only had 18 players on Saturday, beaten 4-18 to 0-05 by Longford. Not Galway, not Mayo. Longford. But the structures are grand. Dodgy_Pass (Leitrim) - Posts: 403 - 07/07/2025 13:47:44 2624124 Link 1 |
There favs with the bookies for championship, rightly so with the new additions. Been to a few league games to see the Willies, Mohill, Carrick and Fenagh play but haven't seen Leitrim Gaels yet with the 3 Jones brothers.

You are too passive aggressive to pay attention to anyone explaining it to you.

The game was at 10am, would you have enthusiastically gotten out of bed when you were 15 for a shield game at that time on a Saturday...especially if you're up the north end of the county, because I wouldn't have. Lots of families away on their holidays too I'd say. I don't see that as a 'structures' problem, more of an organisation one boxtyburgerbuns (Leitrim) - Posts: 434 - 07/07/2025 14:43:05 2624152 Link 1 |
You have an impressive U15 squad ,beat us by a bigger margin than what we beat you in U16

was there something else on that we had such a small panel and we got such a hiding? Our structures are not perfect but we should be more competitive versus Longford

Can you please try and give me one example?? This is the umpteenth time I've asked and nobody can provide one example of a "structure". We got beaten on Saturday in under 16s but won in under 15s? So where does the "structures" go wrong?? From 15 to 16??? Or did you know we actually won the under 15 game and just ignore it so you can bang on your "structures" drum (of which you can't provide one concrete example). bláthach (Leitrim) - Posts: 175 - 07/07/2025 15:40:25 2624175 Link 0 |
Don't be saying that. You can't as that doesn't fit in with our "structures are wrong" narrative.

watched Leitrim gaels v soh. Gaels were good, but the Jones's ran the show for them. soh had a player sent off before halftime, think it was level at halftime. both teams missed penalties in the second half and game could've gone either way in the end. Gaels definitely title contenders, they've a huge panel, must have 14 or 15 subs.

that is kinda fair, my school holidays were spent in the bog and in the meadows so I would have much rather play a football game, even if it were a shield game. Different times. Also don't live up the north of the country. Would not read too much into it but from outside looking in, it does not look good

The CCC allowed an U17 league game to go ahead on Friday night, 2 players who would be starters for the u16s got injured, one late withdrawal on Friday night. Few away on holiday and the Gaeltacht. Throw in time was to facilitate players going to some gig in Dublin that evening, read into that what you want about players' commitment. Croke Park schedule the academy games, so hard blame the CB on that one. Tell me did you ever ask your club's coaching officer to ask about the academy structures at a coaching officers meeting??? anon3 (Mayo) - Posts: 35 - 07/07/2025 21:29:48 2624256 Link 0 |

Lol. Am I right in saying that any club in the county could have objected to the transfers? Strange if none did so

Long time listener....first time caller!! I can literally think of thousands of examples where subs did indeed win games. anklesockhater (Leitrim) - Posts: 2 - 08/07/2025 14:58:33 2624403 Link 1 |
The magpies of Leitrim GAA, they will take any disgruntled footballer and promise them stardom. Been picking up players from surrounding clubs for years, they have cast the net a bit further this time
