I believe he was on the panel 2 or 3 years ago but suffered from a few injuries so didn't get any game time

Alan Kelly Kiltubrid to Allen Gaels, Jerome McWeeney Kiltubrid to Eslin (though was he not aughnasheelin?). Heard some stories about that one! don't know the Keaney fella but Pat Moolick was a fair coup, played with his brother for Kildare back in the day. gaelsboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 687 - 21/10/2025 00:17:59 2640898 Link 0 |
Which Leitrim gaels players do you think will get a call up after their win? Outside of their current panelists of course. southleitrim_mafia (Leitrim) - Posts: 159 - 21/10/2025 08:13:26 2640900 Link 0 |
Arek and Radek id agree with bundles of potential. I have seen Allen Gaels a few times and Tobin is ok his pace seems to be gone from lack of commitment and he has skills but I dont think he would cut it at intercounty. Ciaran Mc Morrow is a very talented footballer but theres not much scope on his frame to develop. As a intercounty team its the likes of Caleb Duffys athletic profile we should be after, but I wouldn't be calling him till we see how he preforms next Sunday. He was non existent against Annaduff and had a tendency to disappear when the Gaels need him most. Looking at the final I was looking forward to seeing Mc Kiernan from Ballinamore he was very good in semis but Jack Flynn done a great job on him I thought, didn't give him a inch of space all day. Has it been the best championship in Leitrim in years probably and if the Jones throw there lot in with Leitrim Gaels for the next few years and not bow out after 1 year, they would be widely accepted more and appreciated, and they would drive the standards of Leitrim football up.

I think the likes of smaller framed players like McMorrow can still be seen as intercounty potential. There's some fine footballers across the country that are the same height as McMorrow. Eoin merchan, mark Bradley etc are all fine footballers playing at the highest level, they just needed that extra bit of S&C to bring them on. There's a few rumours floating around of the Jones's switching county status, it would be quite difficult for conall and garvin to get approval but there's certainly standing ground there for Ryan, I can't imagine Derrygonnely are crying for them back as they have reached and drawn the final this year. Point noted. Did he go to school in Fenagh and all, I wasnt aware he was living in fenagh. But to Say hes not homegrown by ballinamore is harsh enough given his alliance to SOH since birth. But thays nowhere near relatable to other transfers into teams.

Potential yes but compared to Mark Bradley same position etc Ciaran has about 3 years of building up to match that, it could be done im sure, but we'll see how sunday goes in fairness to him hes probably the only Allen Gaels footballer who has consistently shown up when the team needs him most. They generally all just implode in the pressure cooker.

He's on the border to be fair. I don't think he went to school in Fenagh.

Very enjoyable SFC - no shortage of talking points throughout which meant that the general interest levels were high. Hopefully Leitrim Gaels and the other championship winners will do us proud in Connacht. IronSleeve (Leitrim) - Posts: 49 - 21/10/2025 14:16:36 2640966 Link 0 |
I agree i believe we're putting our best foot forward on all grades into the Connaught Campaigns, Leitrim Gaels will be without Bruen i believe but apart from him will give it a good rattle. Also it should be, should be Allen Gaels ans Aughavas in inter and junior grades and hopefully they give it the respect it deserves ans drive on in Connaught

This is a crazy statement I've been to a few Gaels games this year. On the up side the Oberwan brothers definitely need to be in there maybe the likes of Thomas Mulvey and even if you poach that kilcline lad even just for the year serious experience .
