A lot of people outside Connacht don't believe in the 'Roscommon in the long grass' phenomenon. Believe me it exists! They're not quite in the long grass after a very good league under a manager they're all playing for. Yesterday's result was an outlier based on their league form and with a weakened team. Rather than talk about how well Dowd has done without St Brigid's players he now has a very good squad of players fighting to start. Comes across as calm and professional in interviews. Should be saying maybe less of the returning Brigids players might be good enough to start. The Connacht championship game will be a cracker. Yesterday will have no bearing on that.

Look what happened yesterday happened. Mark dowd definitely didn't tell the players not to put in n a proper performance. One thing we found out is few of the lads around the panel who aren't good enough. They are brilliant club players but not good enough for county. I still think when we get our strongest 15 on the pitch we will have a right go at beating mayo. People are saying stack is back training then others saying he's not back? We really need him back for championship dave1988 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1380 - 23/03/2026 10:46:14 2662455 Link 0 |
