Why is there still no decision on when the D1 Minor Final is going to be on, very unfair on the 2 sets of players. More than 2 weeks since the semi final and still no decision. Ciaráin Murtagh has called time on his inter-county career. What a brilliant player and great service he's given over the year from the development panels in the late 00s to giving it one final year with the Seniors this year. Happy retirement Ciaráin. Best wishes to Ciaráin Murtagh on his retirement. With Donie, likely Niall Daly, possibly Davy Murray and Harney going it's like the changing of the guard and the end of an era. A truly dedicated and outstanding servant for the county. As previously mentioned there will probably be a shake up of the team next year with fresh faces and legs introduced. Taken out by Dominic's,Kilbride,Castlerea and Kilglass Barrys this weekend. Best of luck to Eire Og in the Intermediate final next Sunday. Hope they do it this time. The west of the county needs a boost to give the youngsters something to aspire to. I live and I'm involved in a club I Dublin and I know the dubs are back on a strength and conditioning program within a couple of weeks of the new manager being announced. Castlerea v Padraig Pearses U18 Division 1 decider finalky has date and venue confirmed Saturday 25th Oct at 12 in Enfield. The rumours that it might be a double header with the senior final on Sunday 26th hasn't become a reality. First official game for Mark Dowd will be Leitrim in the FBD followed by a match with Mayo. Would like to think county grounds will be used for those matches but I don't hold out hope for that and I wouldn't be surprised if a competition ran by the Connacht GAA isn't played on the outdoor pitches in Bekan.
