Should be a lively affair with Bonner on board. I wonder if he will AuldGussie (Fermanagh) - Posts: 101 - 16/09/2025 15:54:59 2636454 Link 2 |
Good to see Bonner come on board. Will know the club game well in Fermanagh which is a positive as an outside manager. Interesting to see who he brings in alongside Paul Brennan Ronan Gallagher coming in with u20s is also good. Will know the younger players in depth having been with the seniors Happy to see Pat stay on with the minors. He has a great way about him Don't know much about the senior hurling lads and hope they do well. I do know Cyril and the work that man does for hurling in the county is incredible. Very lucky to have him Good luck to all our managers for 2026. fermanagh.gael (Fermanagh) - Posts: 2 - 16/09/2025 23:43:15 2636505 Link 1 |
I thought you were spoofing Gussie, but sure macca did suggest the return of Seamie… "Sean Quigley without doubt still best forward in county, be invaluable from frees and 2 pointers, the 3 up certainly makes it easier for him to be involved and not impact in defensive set-up as can stay up. At very least as an impact sub, although know he might not be happy for such a role. Look at the influence Michael Murphy has had on Donegal. macca999 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1187 - 03/07/2025 16:43:26" However, here is a response to that comment from another poster… "I have to laugh at the posters commenting on moving on with the young lads and then in the next breath wanting to bring back the Roslea man. Anyone with an ounce of wit should know that ship has sailed long ago and is well beyond the horizon. ORIELMAN85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 802 - 21/08/2025 13:01:50" Having quoted these responses and your own Gussie, "I wonder if he will be radical and bring Seamus Quigley to the sub bench as macca999 recently suggested," I say that Bonner should be openminded to the return of Seamie Quigley as an impact sub. As for the poster Orielman's take on the subject, you'd swear Seamie was collecting the pension the way you're going on! The man is only 33, not 53, even two years younger than McCusker, the captain! If the county's "best forward in years" is still togging out for Roslea, then he's hardly beyond the horizon. Nobody's saying build the team around him or drag him up to stormy Lissan for winter training, but as macca pointed out, a man who can kick frees and win you a tight game is worth a jersey, even if it's only 20 minutes from the bench. Funny how Murphy was a messiah for Donegal in his return, but when it's Fermanagh's best forward folk start shouting "ship has sailed." If Bonner has any streak of madness in him, beyond working on skill and confidence development of the young lads, then give Seamie a cameo. Imagine, the roar from Brewster if his name was read out would drown out half the county and have Pete McGrath head spinning, if he was watching! cillnaile.
