Replying To Pope_Benedict:  "If Mulhern lacks punch, he should fit very seamlessly into the current Galway forward line. Many would observe that even 'established' forwards like Finnerty and Tierney lack punch at the highest level of the game."
If people are still saying that finnerty then I wouldn't pay much heed to their opinion, proven doubters wrong over last 2 years.

Even our neighbours are grudgingly accepting he is a quality player now

Mcdaid Walsh comer well able to punch holes

In comparison to Thompson who is very similar to in style he couldn't break shackles and get away from defenders

I'd have him on bench Sunday given absences

Scan said after game comer and Walsh both nursing injuries and a few other absences

I'd make mayo strong favourites Sunday

Enjoyable meltdown on the blog after an FBD game in January. Interesting to read that a side in 2 of the last 4 all Ireland finals were desperate to win and FBD game, despite playing zero starters. Seems to be a few that are in denial about Galway winning the last 4 Connachts in a row also

A few ruin the conversation for everyone on there which is why I rarely post anymore. Every county has its head bangers though. I'm amused why anyone would get excited or disappointed over an FBd league match. Even the league itself….its all about what you do in championship.

True, one or two posters keep relentlessly posting the same narrow view and it ruins the debates.
In reality both sides used yesterday to give a good run out to fringe players and both sides will be happy enough with the game as there was probably enough competitiveness in it to either rule some lads either in or out.

Ps, was sorry to see Bridget's lose, a fine team

Yeah don't know many who post under different county profiles here.

Mchale was prob best player on pitch yday is he likely to start next week

I'd imagine we will be without conroy Walsh comer Maher Cooke next week so would make ye strong favs

What's story with jack carney non existent yday bar one boomer

I always find in sports some players faces fit and stay in a team without contributing much and other dont fit and always need to produce to keep place (Boland would be good example of that for mayo)

The other seasoned inter county players stood out yday callanan Molloy finnerty when on the ball

Spot on. There'll be an overreaction to next week's result from whoever loses also, albeit it's harder to get Galway fans excitable than the Mayo contingent

Ultimately none of it matters a joy until championship. Nobody remembers the league never mind an FBD

Every county has embarrassing fans. That Galway Facebook page is just as bad. The thing is people wrote stuff online they wouldn't dare say in public.

So good chance Galway will be without Walsh, Comer, Conroy, Maher, Thompson, Cooke and D'Arcy next weekend. Unless one or two make unexpected appearances. Fair amount of talent there.

What's McDaid's status? Don't think he's appeared in any challenge games or FBD games. Presume they are just giving him a break?

Mayo I imagine will have something a lot closer to their best side available.
