Replying To katser:  "A reason for lack of Junior All Ireland success is putting Clubs forward to represent Galway who can't even win the Junior A or beat traditional Clubs 2nd team.
This Premier Junior with no relegation is going to leave alot of Clubs in a timeworp, not good enough to win the competition but safe from humiliation by not being relegated to to Reeves Cup or 5th tier Junior A.
That Reeves Cup with Clubs 2nd teams will be alot more entertaining and exciting than that boring Premier Junior competition.
There should be promotion for Reeves Cup winners to Premier Junior and relegation from Premier Junior to Reeves Cup."
What are your predictions this weekend in all the games katser?

They won the big one and march on to the senior quarters. A good win considering some important players missing and injured.

Some nice ties for the quarters, Oran and Turlough should be good and could go either way, bridge and loughrea the pick of them, Toms should account for larkins and a very lucky Sars should beat craughwell

Senior: 16
Intermediate: 16 (all first teams)
Junior: 10 (all first teams)

Separate Reserve Team Championship
Reeves Cup: Top-12 B teams. Will not feed into Junior
Junior A to F: Will feed into Reeves Cup

There will be a huge crowd in Athenry for that Loughrea Bridge game. That's as close to a county game as you'll get at club level if they both bring their A game. Pity it's a quarter final rather than the county final. Turlough against Oranmore is another cracker.

Thanks for that - so no promotion for winning the Reeves Cup.
Wonder how will the Top 12 B teams be picked ?

Very competitive Games in the Quarters. Loughrea had the bridges number last year. Fancy the bridge to just squeeze through this time if big players show up on the day. Tommies could spring a surprise against Thomas's they looked strong yesterday against Athenry but the Quarter final's have been their down fall the last few years. Sarfields to beat craughwell if they have a few of the missing players back. Oranmore and Turlough is a tough one to call.

The current Junior A had 18 teams.
Take out the Premier 6. (Clubs first team)
Take out the top 8 (Clubs 2nd teams)
That leaves just 4 Junior A teams for next year.
Better question is.....how are they going to make up a Junior A Championship for 2026????? Promote 8 Junior B teams is it!!!

They'll be the highest ranked 2nd teams from this year's championship.

Joseph Cooney and Alex Connaire didn't start and clearly weren't fit. With those two starting and in good shape, along with Paddy they'll be a much stronger outfit.

Whats everyones view on the Glaway Club Championship structure\format?
Oranmore-Maree's reward for topping the group is a Quater Final v Turloughmore.
Clarinbridge's reward for topping the group is a Quater Final with last years County Champions Loughrea.
IMO the best teams should meet at a minimum in a semi final with the best two in a Final.
I stated here after the first round where Clarinbridge gave us a lesson that it may make us in the long run.
I very much think you are better off not topping your group and not getting the dreaded month off.
Who are the teams now in a stronger position at quater final stage?

I think the structure is ok, but imo no neutral fans would miss the preliminary qfinals too much, if just 8 qualified from the group stage rather than 12 (75%) of the teams.

You're pointing out table toppers there that got tough draws, while ignoring table toppers St Thomas and Craughwell who got easier draws. It's the luck of the draw after all, which is usually a factor in all draws.

Craughwell beat Loughrea in the group phase, and you're now perceiving Loughrea to be stronger than Craughwell, but it wasn't the fault of the competition structure that Craughwell beat Loughrea. They just beat them anyway.
